Dylan Grice isn't a Golden Globe-award winning actor, nor is he a social media celebrity, he's 100 times better. He's a deep thinker who before setting up Calderwood capital was research director at Edelweiss Holdings (one of Europe's largest family offices) which came on the back of working as a Global strategist at Socgen, where together with the famous bear Albert Edwards he became known for some exceptional calls and remarkably well articulated research notes...which was how I first came to learn of him.
I’ve wanted to have Dylan on a podcast for nearly a decade, and—even with my sky-high hopes—he absolutely over-delivered. In our conversation, we dig into investing psychology, opportunities in credit, and much, much more. Dylan was very gracious with his time, and this is one of the most enjoyable conversations I've had.
Trust me—Dylan delivers the goods, and we had a blast. Enjoy! (edited) -

One of the wonderful byproducts of running an investment research business is that it has attracted some of the most diverse and sharpest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting.
One of those gents is Chris Weber, who is the Managing Director of Global Freight Consulting. Chris has traded multiple commodities in the dry bulk space and has grown and developed both physical as well as financial trading platforms for several startups in the industry after beginning his career at Louis Dreyfus Commodities. He has held leading managerial and trading roles in the space while living and working in Asia, Africa, and Europe before recently returning to the USA.
Having travelled for business as well as pleasure to over 100 countries he has a diverse group of global contacts and a passion for experiencing different cultures and economics. He has been a great source of information for me when looking at the shipping industry.
I hope you enjoy our discussion. -

I spend a lot of time talking to investors around the world, and the majority of them agree: asset prices have never been this distorted... ever.
So the question is, how do you hedge this massive risk?
It's something I talk about in this special episode of the Big Question Podcast.
Specifically, I discuss a strategy some of the world's sharpest investors have very successfully used in the past. And I think it's a strategy you'd do well to employ today.
