Check out the video I made with the theatre students from the Conservatoire de Lille
https://youtu.be/VWwFzAw54xU?si=pTXQx6T1J2Gv_uJPIn this podcast I discuss how I teach dance to the CPES Theatre Department for the academic year 2023-2024, coordinated by Sébastien LENGLET, head of the Theatre Department. This unique course integrates Rudolf Laban's movement fundamentals and elements of choral dance, aiming to enrich the artistic and theatrical experience of our students.
**Rudolf Laban's Movement Fundamentals**
We delve into the four main categories of Laban: body, effort, space, and shape. These elements enhance body awareness, movement dynamics, spatial use, and fluidity in transitions.
**Choral Dance**
By incorporating choral dance, we encourage synchronization, rhythm, and collaboration among students, thereby creating harmonious collective works.
Our goals are to promote personal expression, improve technique, strengthen collaboration, and foster self-awareness through movement.
