  • Bobby joins the Full 90' to talk about his journey through football!

Bobby grew up in the FC Dallas Academy, playing with some of the top youth talents across the country at that time (ie. Weston Mckinnie, Kellyn Acosta) before looking towards College footy. As a player in a top academy, Bobby had several options for schools but eventually settled on Furman University.

Bobby enjoyed great success his first 2 seasons in college, then we discuss his feelings about not being at his best the 2nd half of his college career. He felt a changed player and a shadow of the player he once was or knew himself to be.

After college, Bobby believed the pro opportunities would come to him, but that turned out to not be the case. He eventually moved back home, joined NPSL team, and began working a job; all while still holding on to the dream of playing professionally. After several years of working and playing in Dallas, Bobby took a leap of faith and flew to Germany. Leaving his job and his family, Bobby was determined to make it in the football world.

Bobby has a great story of perseverance but he shares some of his regrets and advice for other players. Don't wait for it to come to you, work for it.

I really enjoyed this episode with Bobby, I hope you guys do too!

  • Sveppi joins the Full 90' to talk about his injury journey!

Sverrir talks about his ACL injury and how he has been coping with things the past 9 months. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL in a nearly pointless training after completing a successful season that saw him get his debut in Mens football.

Since his recovery, he has had trouble getting back in to a rhythm with football, the first team in his club trains during the day which makes it tough for him to consistently make it to training due to school. On the other hand, he has already moved past the age that allows him to play with the second team (u19s). This has created a bit of a tough spot for Sverrir as he has felt that he isn't quite getting the full experience of getting back into the first team.

We discuss some of the biggest barriers he has faced and how he handled himself through the process!

  • Shea joins the Full 90' to discuss her recent ACL injury and road to recovery!

Shea unfortunately tore her ACL in a training this year, resulting in season-ending surgery. Now, 3 months post-op, Shea is beginning to run on the treadmill, jump, and close to putting her boots on for the basics.

Shea and I speak about how each of us have coped with the injury, beginning with actually accepting that *this* injury happened to us. Shea goes on to say how she would have thought this could happen early in her career, but never in year 9, while facing free agency on the horizon.

We discuss her hopes for the future and next contract, and how sometimes the business of football can be a cruel side of the sport to experience first-hand.

We also talk about several topics around injury, filling your time while injured, finding purpose outside football, and even touch on what to do after football! I really enjoyed this episode with Shea, I hope you do too!

  • Ab joins the Full 90' to speak about his injury journey!

Only 4 games into the 22/23 season, AB broke his fibula during a challenge in a game. He was initially placed in a full leg cast, before being downgraded to a walking boot. After further examination, the results were slightly better than the first diagnosis, showing no ligament damage and a clean break. That put a 4-6 month recover window on the injury.

AB talks about how he felt a little robbed of an important season, after being newly promoted to the 2nd tier in Denmark; this was his chance to move up. After the initial shock and denial, he adopted a fresh attitude that allowed him to attack his rehab. Eventually returning to the pitch just over 4 months after the initial injury.

AB's attitude and outlook is great throughout the whole process, I really enjoyed the episode and I hope you do too!

  • Hanna joins the Full 90' to talk about her recent ACL injury!

Hanna tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus all in one single moment, essentially blowing up her knee. Because of the severity of the injury and the MCL tear, it was decided that she wear a brace for nearly 2 months before the operation could take place. Fast forward to the beginning of August and she is finally set for surgery in the next week or so. Hanna is well into her injury journey, but hasn't truly begun her recovery. We wish her good luck!

On the podcast we discuss all aspects of being an injured athlete in a foreign country, from loneliness to breakdowns to acceptance and even seeing the brighter side of the circumstances!

I don't wish injury upon anyone, but for those going through it I hope you can see that people of all ages and levels handle adversity differently. If only one person can relate to this and finds something of value, I will be happy.

  • Welcome to my newest series on the Full 90'!

As most of you know, I am currently recovering from ACL surgery. I won't lie, it's not easy. There are natural ups and downs, sometimes emotions boil up when you least expect it. I think I have handled myself well, but I want insight into how people handled their own journey.

I want to interview athletes of all walks of life and see how they dealt with the mental and physical stress of going through a traumatic or long-term injury.

These interviews may get raw, emotional, deep, and dark; I don't plan to tune it down. So let's just see what happens!

Nacho and I discuss the financial journey he endured in order to get to the US from Chile, telling us he had to pay a finders fee and a recurring agent fee to even get a college opportunity. Though it was a steep amount, Nacho say it was entirely worth it.

Cody talks about his transition from the structure of professional football to post career and what he fills the gaps with now.
