So, who are these irregular regulars of Cypress Avenue?
Set over the course of one Sunday, The Slow Midnight on Cypress Avenue is a collection of interconnected vignettes that takes the reader through the streets and across sidewalks of Cypress Avenue—an unkempt afterthought, just a place that sits at the neighborhood border edge of Ridgewood Queens, NY.
The three-part book—broken into Morning, Afternoon, and Night—introduces you to the irregular regulars of the human race.
There is the soft and strange relationship between the eccentric Samuel Jean and a young girl of Puerto Rican descent named Desponda “Dezzy” Rivera. There’s “Old” Goldie Samuels, a washed-up relic who spends her days spinning yarns and getting free drinks at the local liquor store. But the story is truly centered on Corporal Benjamin Zogby, a veteran who spends his days alone on his stoop watching the bus go by and wishing his love would return to him. It’s his tragic fate that sends the avenue and the other inhabitants you’ll meet—Earl the fisherman, Father John White, among others—into an unstoppable tailspin toward unexpected change and inner destruction.

While at the summit, I spoke of my search for a land that was doing it right; a sustainable global model. Many years earlier, I found myself called to the Kingdom of Bhutan. I feel in love with an ancient land of Kings and Queens, beloved by their people."

Christian Marie Serratos best known for portraying Angela Weber in Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse. Part of the Twilight novels by Stephenie Meyer and Suzie Crabgrass in Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide gonna be on the green living guy!!! An eco friendly band that I have known for a while deserved an interview with The Green Living Guy.
Driven by the gutsy lead vocals and savvy songwriting of John Cusimano, The Cringe has been bringing their blend of politicized power pop and big-belt-buckle blare to fans across the country since 2004. The band’s first two albums, Scratch the Surface and Tipping Point, tipped the neo-grunge scales towards the polished blast-pop of the Foo Fighters and The Vines, but within those melodic contours lurked the ragged heart of first-generation indie bands from the Minutemen to The Replacements.

New York City & Lower Hudson Valley Clean Communities, Inc (NYCLHVCC), The Federated Conservationists of Westchester County, Inc (FCWC) and the City of White Plains are co-hosting a two part event during White Plains Earth Week to educate residents of the Lower Hudson Valley on how they can reduce their carbon foot print by switching to Electric Vehicles.
On April 18th a special screening of “Revenge of the Electric Car” directed by Chris Paine*, sponsored by BMW of Westchester, will start at 6PM at the Cinema De Lux in White Plains New York and will feature welcome remarks by Honorable Mayor Tom Roach of White Plains, NY. Chris Paine’s earlier documentary “Who Killed the Electric Car?” (2006) questioned the role of the auto industry and government planners. His follow up documentary “Revenge of the Electric Car” (2011) documents four entrepreneurs from 2007 to 2010 who are fighting to see who will be the first to bring the electric car back in the mist of a global recession.

Erich was appointed by the US Department of Energy in 2004 to serve on the GridWise Architecture Council (GWAC) - a focused team of experts assembled to articulate the guiding principles that constitute the architecture of a future, intelligent, transactive, energy system. Mr. Gunther serves on the board of directors for Global Smart Infrastructures, and the Utility Communications Architecture International Users group. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Tennessee.
In 2007, EnerNex and Mr. Gunther were recognized by the Department of Energy and other organizers of the GridWeek conference by receiving the Smart Grid Implementation and Leadership Award. The award announcement stated: “Under Erich Gunther’s leadership, the EnerNex team has clearly driven how we implement and deploy smart grid technologies from coast to coast and everywhere in between”.
