How do you deal with death threats you receive through your LinkedIn post you meant to be inspirational and informative? How do you obsess over the process of becoming a better trail runner and detach yourself from the outcome?
Chris Claflin is a trail runner based in Bentonville, Arkansas, and a financial coach whose LinkedIn posts are informative, educational, but apparently also controversial to some
On this episode of the Headlamp Hour we dive into what the trail running scene is like in Chris’ hometown - a city known for being the World Headquarters of Walmart, but which has also been dubbed the “Mountain Bike Capital of the World”.
We also talk with Chris about having explicit priorities in life and how trail running supports many of those priorities including God, Family, and Health.
Be sure to give Chris Claflin a follow over on LinkedIn as long as you plan on not issuing any death threats!

On this episode of the Headlamp Hour we talk with Patrick Oborn and Mike Greer who just competed in Sudden Death December.
What is Sudden Death December you ask? It is an individual, backyard ultra of sorts, last-one standing style. It actually starts with “No Rest November” where you run at least 10k per day everyday in November, then starting December 1st you run 11k. On December 2nd you run 12k, and you add 1k per day, everyday until you can’t go any longer.
Listen to my conversation with Patrick Oborn and Mike Greer to find out their experience with this challenge and how far they made it! Patrick lives in Pleasant Grove, Utah, Mike lives in Phoenix, AZ and was actually the guy who crewed me recently to my 9th place finish at Black Canyon 100k, so it was fun to catch up with Mike and meet Patrick, who is also an amazing individual. I hope you enjoy the conversation!
