- When those values are not honored, we feel pain.
We can often see what we value most deeply, by looking at the things that bother us or cause us pain. Looking at the opposite of that pain can reveal our deepest value. Sometimes, when there is too much pain, we act out of that pain instead of staying true to our heart. Learning to identify our deep heart values can help us live from them even in the face of pain and malfunction in ourselves and others. -
Family (3 way) Bonds:
Involve 3 faces sharing positive regard for one another Are best built upon a stable foundation of knowing 2-way joy. (two faces) Create community from having a third person perspective on our joyful relationship Build the highest level of our brain, the Pre-Frontal Cortex, This brain level contains our capacity to maintain three points of view simultaneously These bonds help us to develop our maturity They teach us to feel safe in a group Grow best in community where we are tender toward weakness Require the interaction of the strong and the weak together Are a part of God’s plan to redeem His people though loving communities -
Daily practice with the feeling of Gratitude (Appreciation):
Creates belonging Changes stress to contentment Makes social interactions more enjoyable Allows us to share packaged joy with others Helps us be aware of the good things instead of just problems Boosts our dopamine and serotonin levels in the brain Activates, trains and grows our relational brain circuits Opens us up to the presence of God - Show more
