    What programs can help you in weight loss might not be of any help if you’re planning to get ripped. Similarly, drugs and medications work wonders for the right disease, but can be harmful to you when used incorrectly.

    Biohacking regimes are nothing different.

    And so, I had my good friend, Justin Maguire, help me come up with the perfect-fit strategy to augment my body, using a series of tests including a full panel blood work, in order to objectively select specific biohacking techniques suitable for my personal needs.

    Justin is the Founder of Autonomic Coaching. He has meticulously studied nutrition, biochemistry and physiology since 2005, and has amassed a whole array of qualifications including certifications in hormones and performance, as well as a diploma in functional blood chemistry analysis, among others.

    Justin believes that choosing the right techniques and programs is key to maximizing your body’s potentials.

    “You never want to treat a test. You want to treat the individual”, says Justin.

    In optimizing your program, you need to do intervals of testing, figure out objectively what has been compromised, use those tests to quantify your experiences, create an intervention protocol relevant to your experiences, and implement that protocol given a necessary time period.

  • The road to getting a magnificently ripped body is not without its risks!

    Having the right form, following the proper programs, making preparations, and maintaining discipline (in mind and body) can minimize risks, especially in highly active lifestyles and intense fitness regimes.

    But there always will be the risk of accidents and injuries...

    However, those cases shouldn’t mean the end of your fitness journey.

    Just last year, I’ve incurred multiple muscle tears (meniscus, supraspinatus, triceps) and I opted to undergo Stem Cell Therapy.

    The healing process can be frustrating and will definitely test your PATIENCE and DISCIPLINE. Having to “lay low” while your friends and peers continue improving their bodies can inflict its own kind of complications in the mind.

    You will be tempted to set yourself back from your progress. You may be inclined to make all sorts of UNHEALTHY COMPARISONS, be it with your peers or your high-functioning self (prior your injuries).

    But make no mistake!

    The pain from not being able to keep at my high-intensity routine can be more overwhelming than the pain from my injuries – though not when I maintain the RIGHT MINDSET!

    I’m looking forward to a full recovery soon. I’m about to get back to my regular routine, slowly but surely, because of the proper mindset I’m about to share with you!

  • Stem cells have the unique ability to become any type of cell that is required by the body. This means that they can be used in a wide range of treatments, including bone marrow transplants, certain types of cancer therapy, and tissue regeneration after injury.

    He began to apply his knowledge and experience as a full time professional coach to help other aspiring athletes and fitness enthusiasts. With hard work, passion, time and a solid track record, Neil quickly amassed a reputation for getting results. This blend of experience, knowledge, and an innate ability to motivate people has made Neil a much sought-after coach.

  • Bodybuilding is the process of increasing muscle mass through resistance training.

    It's easy to see why bodybuilding is one of the most popular physical sports in the world: it has numerous mental and physical benefits.

    This is what "The Mind" Milos Sarcev kept saying to me as he tortured me through a shoulder, biceps, and triceps workout at Flex Lewis's Gym.

  • We all have a friend who is able to keep their weight stable. He never looks bloated, and He seems to be able to eat whatever He wants without gaining weight.

    But if you're like most people, you've probably struggled with your weight at some point in your life. Maybe you've tried one diet after another, but nothing has worked.

    You've probably heard this before: You begin a new diet and stick with it for a few days before giving up. After a week, you're sick of chicken and broccoli and decide to abandon your diet altogether and go back to ordering pizza every night for dinner.

    My client, Luke Nakatani, spent his high school days as a 278-pound teenager.   • We all have bad habits, right?

    Individuals trying to lose weight do not realize that their environment and lifestyle need to be altered in addition to their diet to meet the desired weight-loss goals.

    Andrew Hicks is a busy man. When he was in his early 30s, he used to be in great shape. But then when he started a family, he let his fitness routine fall by the wayside. He stopped caring about what he ate and started spiraling into bad habits.

    On his 39th birthday, he looked at himself in the mirror one day and didn't even know who he was looking at.   • When it comes to mountaineering, preparation is everything.

    Mountain climbing is much more difficult than hiking and requires a higher level of fitness as well as experience on a variety of terrain. There's a lot to do to prepare, from training your body and ensuring you have the technical skills for a safe, successful climb to training your mind for the endurance ahead.

    For mountain climbers, the strength-to-weight ratio is an important key performance indicator.

    Have you ever attempted to hike up a steep trail while carrying a heavy backpack? The more you carry, the more difficult the effort.

    Weight is important.

    It will be better for a mountaineer to be as close to their ideal body composition as possible so they don't have to carry a lot of extra weight up the mountain.
    One of the most important factors in determining a healthy weight goal is how much of a person's weight is body fat.
    For climbers, excess body fat can be reduced to improve performance.

    This is one of the challenges my client, Dan Eckstein experienced.

    Ever since Dan and his family moved to Southeast Idaho and saw the mountains, he has had a strong desire to reach the summit. As a result, he and his friends decided to attempt to climb Mount Hood in 2013. He trained a little bit in a gym, but he was all over the place, and he didn't have a proper diet, but he still believed he could reach the summit.

    They then began climbing the mountain, eventually reaching a height of 9300 feet. However, he noticed that his legs were cramping up and needed to stop. He worked it out a little bit, but suddenly he felt that he could not move anymore without getting a cramp.

    And because of that, their climb was not successful.
    This made him very upset and felt defeated, having wasted time, effort, and money.

    He realized he needed to lose weight (he weighed 266 pounds at the time) and train more in order to feel better and more confident for his second attempt—this became his most difficult challenge!

    Because of his unhealthy lifestyle and uncontrolled bad eating habits, plus the dream of reaching Mount Hood's summit, he started training with me to gain more strength, lose weight, and gain confidence to make the second attempt.

    Dan then reached out to me for training. Together, we worked to help him gain more strength and lose weight so that he would be confident in his ability to complete the climb successfully. It wasn't easy—it took discipline, hard work, and determination on Dan's part—but ultimately it all paid off: Dan managed to lose a ton of weight and pack on some serious muscles, making him achieve his goals.

    This time around, Dan found success on his second attempt! and made it to the summit!

  • Between the daily agony of long hours spent at an uncomfortable desk, and an unrelenting schedule, having a demanding job can often interfere with your exercise habits — if not stop them dead in their tracks.

    And that's a problem, because when you're stressed out and sedentary, exercise is one of the best things you can do to manage anxiety and ensure that you stay physically active through all that sitting.

    When it comes to fitness, it often seems like working people have two options: 1) waking up early enough to go work out, or 2) hoping that they have enough energy to work out in the evening. While hopping over to the gym in the middle of the day sounds like a nice solution, most of us don't have that luxury on a daily basis. And keeping a set of weights or foam roller stashed under your desk may not be in sync with your office culture.

    Everyone's work life is different, so what works for you and your schedule or job demands might not work for the next person.

    So how do you fit exercise in when working full time? And what is the impact of remote work on staying fit and healthy?

    This is 100% doable. But it takes strict time management and a training program designed to pack as much productivity as possible into short periods of time.

    My online client, Langston Menezes, who was born and raised in Dubai, has always been an active person who also happens to be a foodie. He began working out in the gym with his brother when he was 20 years old. His brother became an inspiration to him when it came to working out and getting in shape. However, as a gourmand, he did not place a high value on appropriate nutrition.

    His brother soon referred him to bodybuilding.com. Langston began the 60-day program with me. He continued to train, but he had no specific goals in mind. His efforts yielded little to no results because he lacked goals and a sufficient diet.

    He subsequently moved to the United States, studied, and started a new job in 2019. He quit training and concentrated on his job. This provided him with a valid reason to stop exercising and he gained a lot of weight.

    He opted to workout at home when the pandemic hit in 2020. He improved his training consistency, but he continued to have a poor eating pattern. He then decided to focus on losing weight and opted to work with me on a one-on-one basis.

    Langston had a lot of obstacles during the program.

    He managed to overcome them, eat right, and get enough sleep. Working and exercising at home transformed him physically and mentally—he became a better version of himself.

    By being consistent with eating the right foods at home and working out regularly despite the challenges at home brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, Langston lost weight and gained lean muscle mass.

    He believed investing in himself was the right choice he made.

  • Wes Watson is an inspirational speaker, fitness trainer, an ex-convict.

  • It’s never too late to get in shape and reap the health benefits of physical fitness.

    In fact, increasing physical activity later in life results in the same risk reduction of cancer, cardiovascular disease, and all-cause mortality as being active from adolescence through adulthood, the study’s researchers said.

    So, while getting fit after 40 is about easing into specific exercises tailored for success, it’s also about understanding your underlying motivation for doing so.

    The success factor is an ability to connect the dots between one’s diet and exercise routines and their ambitions in life.

    At 40, Matt Selph decided to embark on a journey of weight loss, muscle gain, and beating back the chronic back pain that had plagued him since childhood.

    When he was a teenager, he was diagnosed with a lower spine deformity, which caused him to stop being active and playing football.

    He managed his pain with painkillers, but by the time he was in his 30s, he realized that it wasn't a long-term solution for him. By the time he married, he had put on a lot of weight.

    He has a sedentary job, which means he spends the majority of his time in the office sitting at his desk for around 9 hours a day. His weight went up to 217 pounds, and his back pain returned intensely. He realized that this wasn't helping.

    Matt's life was turned upside down when he witnessed his mother suffer from osteoporosis as a result of her advanced age. He was well aware that he needed to take charge of his life and his health in order to avoid ending up in the same situation.

    He then began working with me and received one-on-one instruction from me for the next several months.

    Assuming he would be hindered by his back condition, he was cautious. Resistance training, on the other hand, miraculously eliminated the long-term backache he had been experiencing in just 2 weeks!

    By concentrating on his correct food and nutrition, as well as his regular fitness routine, Matt shed an astonishing 50 pounds in just 72 weeks of program participation.

    At 194 pounds and with more muscles than ever, Matt looks and feels great while still being able to think clearly because he spends time outside and hiking with his family, among other things.

  • As vegan diets become more popular than ever among consumers, those who regularly exercise may have questions, "Is it possible to get enough protein as a vegetarian if you want to gain muscle?"

    Building muscle as a vegan is about simple lifestyle and dietary changes; for those who take building muscle seriously at a professional level. For those who are just looking to tone up and maintain muscle, this is completely possible on a vegan diet too.

    Protein is required to build muscle, and contrary to popular belief, it is entirely possible to get enough of it on a vegan diet. Everything from pulses like lentils and beans to soy-based foods and vegan meat products is permissible.

    Saumya Tyagi is a vegetarian who used to be lean but skinny. During his college years, he became a little more active, but not into daily exercises.

    Saumya leads a sedentary lifestyle as an IT professional, sitting for 8-10 hours per day. In 2014, he discovered bodybuilding.com and followed my program for 12 weeks while watching videos; however, the results were slow because he did not pay close attention to his diet.

    He was able to lose weight over the next two months, but his muscles remained undeveloped. He was aware at the time that he did not have the proper forms and was not on track with his food intake.

    While Saumya continues to live a vegetarian lifestyle, he has gained a lot of muscle mass and dropped from 240 pounds, having ripped over 50 pounds, by following his strict training program with me.

  • Did you experience a near death experience or illness? What was the most difficult part of the process for you?

    Kris Shook is a family man and a business owner and has always been into health,fitness, and competitive sports.

    Between 2011 to 2012, he saw one of my series on bodybuilding.com, and was instantly inspired to compete as a bodybuilder.

    Whilst preparing for the competition some time in early 2012, he noticed something different in his physique that was not right. He then consulted their family doctor as he felt that his lymph nodes were swollen.

    He had undergone laboratory work -- all the results are normal. He actually felt good with no symptoms at all and just went back to his normal life.

    However, the swelling did not subside until he decided to have another consultation, and this time, he was referred to a specialist right away.

    He felt utterly hopeless when he realized that all his hard work in preparing for the competition would go to waste.

    But then, just when things couldn't get any worse, he received some terrible news. He had been diagnosed with incurable follicular lymphoma - Stage 4.

    As still being human, there were moments he experienced depression. Though it was difficult, he managed to stay positive throughout this ordeal. He would eliminate any negative thoughts from his mind, and instead visualize himself competing again and enjoying every moment of it.

    He had undergone surgeries and chemotherapies all throughout his journey. He gained weight but managed to get back on track cautiously. And because he discovered biohacking, which was his life saver, he managed to regain his body, strength, and mental health.
