Growing up in Croydon, Alexa didn't really know anyone working in the creative industries, she was interested in fashion and would stay up late at night researching music producers, but didn't really know how to turn her passions into an actual job. After changing courses at university, Alexa launched Wave Magazine and started creating her own opportunities. Having worked for Atlantic Records and Kyra TV, she's currently social editor at The Face, responsible for making the magazine's style and culture stories achieve maximum impact with a global audience.

The effects of Covid hit the retail sector hard and when Alison was forced to rethink her career unexpectedly, it ended up being a blessing in disguise. Armed with a new plan she enlisted with General Assembly to retrain in coding and data science, a move which has led her to her dream role at Lyst which combines her interest in people's behaviour, her business background from economics degree uni and most importantly her passion for fashion.

Sam's journey to Epic Games began with a BTEC in 3D Design at Kingston College, before he went on to get a degree in Product Design, and later a Masters in Animation. From working on both facial and body animation, he's passionate about all types and styles of animation and feels that his own acting and acute observation helps him bring character to the subjects he animates for work.

If you see an advert in the UK containing visual effects, there's a high chance it was made at The Mill - a global production studio whose VFX, animation and video production gets them working with clients such as Nike, Adidas, Mercedes and Audi. Ellis works in The Mill's marketing team and helps tell the world about their campaigns digitally. After restarting a degree in Scotland and working in a call centre, Ellis moved to London, first working with Red Bull before getting her dream job at The Mill.

Carl had always wanted to work in sports television, but promised his dad that he would become an accountant if he couldn’t get a job after 150 applications. He got job 126, working in motor racing TV production in Australia until he moved to the UK in 2008. A lifelong Arsenal fan, he couldn’t believe when the club offered him a role as a producer. In less than a week he went from sitting in the stadium to shooting video content with Cesc Fabregas. He stayed with Arsenal for ten seasons, helping to transform the club's social media and video channels. He currently works for the NBA, working to grow the league’s following in Europe and the Middle East.

Teresa began learning about 3D animation at university then towards the end of her course, Teresa approached guest lecturer Lucy Hardcastle about interning at her studio where she worked on campaigns for fashion clients. Always looking to learn more animation skills on the side, Teresa's Instagram face filters helped her grow a following and soon she was being hired to work on music videos. This year she started Morbo, her own agency, specialising in 3D animation.

Jodie was always more interested in the creative side of things at school and at one point a career in sport looked possible. But a discovery of drawing around her GCSEs led to a natural progression into studying graphic design at college, where she also started experimentating more and more with motion graphics. At Sky Creative / Sky Sports she now gets to combine her love of sport and motion graphics, working across huge sporting events such as the Premiere League and Formula One.

After graduating from university in graphic design, Carl found himself working in numerous roles outside of the design industry including working for his local council. He approached them all as an opportunity to learn, jumping into any design opportunities possible alongside working across lots of creative side projects to build his skills - all of which helped land him his job at YOOX NET-A-PORTER GROUP.

Zoe is a Life Coach and Radio Show host on Foundation FM. Her coaching focuses on helping people figure out where they are, where they want be and how to get them there. Will is from Hackney and works for SNKRS as a co-host on SNKRS Live where they cover all things sneaker culture, and he also writes poetry, makes music and throws parties in his spare time.

23-year-old Laila builds software applications for fashion brand AllSaints. Designing and developing the website interface, working remotely has always been a possibility for developers. Laila insists that it doesn’t matter how old you are, as long as you work hard you can get far in this role. Matthew’s passion for English and writing, coupled with a degree in computer engineering led him to a role which incidentally combines the two: Lead Game Developer at Ustwo Games. Game development allows you to tell a story through visual elements as well as words and Matthew insists that there’s no particular right or wrong skill set for this job - formal education isn’t the only route into it as Matthew is proof of.
