  • In this week's episode I am joined by Jeff Caubble. Jeff has a long history with hunting dogs but a few years ago he fell hard into the feist world. Looking for a fun way to spend time with his daughter he got back to his roots and got a feist to squirrel hunt. It wasn't long before he had another and another and now has six. He has also been heavily involved in the American Treeing Feist Association and competes regularly in their hunts. The feist have been a family affair and they themselves are family members, proving you can make a hunting dog a pet and still be successful.

  • This week I am joined by Joe Seaburn to talk all about Willow. Willow was Joe's first squirrel dog and they have racked up quite the list of accomplishments. This is even more impressive after you hear the story of where she came from and how it all started. This episode has been in the works for a few years as we were supposed to record it at a hunt but ran out of time. Glad to finally get Joe on the podcast. If you'd like to see Willow go be sure to check out Joe's Youtube channel.

  • While waiting for casts to get back on Saturday night/Sunday morning at Black and Tan days Chris Nidy sat down with me to pass the time. We talked about how Chris went from showing Black and Tans and other dogs at AKC dog shows to getting into the nite hunts and eventually finding himself as president of the American Black & Tan Association. Chris had an important message about service and all the work it takes to run an association and hold large events. We all need to step up to help our asssociations, and clubs to continue so todays youth may one day be able to take them over. We had a few interuptions along the way as casts were rolling in and had to cut it a little short but it was a great conversation that we can all learn something from.

  • We are bringing one of the most downloaded episodes out of the vault this week. I ran into some technical difficulties this week as I was trying to edit and upload the new episode and didn't want to miss a week so I thought we could relisten to this great episode with Todd Coles. I originally contacted Todd to record a podcast with little knowlegde of his dogs or himself and through this episode he has become a good friend and I am excited to relisten to this episode myself. Todd has been breeding his line of Treeing Feist for over 25 years. We discuss the history of his foundation stock, his breeding practices and of course some of the dogs he has raised.

  • In this week's episode I am joined by retired Pennsylvania game warden Rod Burns. Rod was a long time coon hunter that became a game warden later in life. The job took him away from his passion of running hounds but when retirement came around he was quick to get a pair of pups and pick up right where he left off. In this episode we talk about a few of Rod's wildest and most memorable moments on the job, as well as the differences in coonhunting from when he stopped to recently picking back up. Towards the end of our conversation we speak about the recent political battle we just had here in PA. Luckily we were able to get our point across to a handful of Senators but this is just a warning that we need to be organized and prepared for these types of attacks.

  • In this week's episode I am joined by father/son duo Greg and Josiah Pulling. Greg and his brother Jim were on the podcast a few years ago. Once again I caught up with them at the Great American Outdoor Show to record this episode. On the way to the show I was listening to Bear Siragusa's podcast The Hunting Hound as he talked about being a father and a houndsman. This made me want to get the input of this father/son duo on the matter. I thought Greg being an accomplished houndsman and Josiah being a budding houndsman that has been immersed in this way of life since he was only in diapers would both have a good perspective on the matter.
