We all know crewing any runner is arguably the most difficult part of any event, especially when that runner is a significant other or a very close friend. From getting to the next crew location, to making sure you have everything under the sun your runner may need, to staying fueled and hydrated staying and focused at crucial times when your runner needs the support they need in a short period of time. There are countless things that a crew must deal with other than following a ribbon or sign. With a cumulative ultra resume consisting of over 100 ultra races, multiple wins and not to mention countless crewing experiences we have put together a panel of who’s expertise ranges from ultrarunner, to crew chief and mental wellness professional.
We were fortunate to be able to secure Danielle Snyder of Inner drive Wellness and also the mental wellness coach for the Number one trail community known as Freetrail to lead this panel discussion. -

On this episode we will be talking with Gary and Ross about their experience at the 2023 No Business 100. This race is a 102 miles with nearly 15,000 of gain and 15,000 loss and covers 2 states. It begins in Jamestown, TN at the Pickett CCC Memorial State Park and loops back around by way of crossing the state line into Kentucky. This course is ran each year in the reverse direction of the year prior. It is truly one of a kind. Gary and Ross are a great team and guide us through this event in a clockwise direction. Gary is an accomplished runner and this is his second time running giving him the elusive Double Buckle. Ross supported Gary and was key in Gary’s success and in getting him across the finish line. This race is somewhat remote that in a sense you should be prepared to traverse the rim while following your runner with all the essentials needed to stay extended for a solid day or even two.
