In todayâs episode (the second of a two-parter) Joann and Kristina welcome industry veteran and Anne Rice fan, Erica Robert Pallo. Erica joined us on several episodes last season and we couldn't have done this one without her! Her knowledge is deep and her insights are powerful.
The season finale "And that's the end of it. There's nothing Else" left us breathless as Louis takes revenge for Claudia and Daniel, with the help of the Real Rashid and the Talamasca, uncovers one more, very critical, piece of truth that helps Louis come to a fateful decision -- a decision that has ramifications for Daniel and that brings him back to New Orleans where we finally meet the real Lestat, currently feeding on rats and clinging to an emotional support plank. Their reunion is one for the ages and we are split on what it all means.
Below are some ways to engage with us and a bit more about Erica.
@kristinagenx, @vampire_insider, and please email us @ [email protected]
Erica tells stories as a writer, media producer, and researcher with a focus on womenâs historical writing, film and television, photography, and vampires. Erica is at Harvard University as a library assistant and a masterâs student in English looking at 17th-century female playwrights in England. She will soon be launching an interview podcast and blog called The Cinematic Storyteller about people whose work tells cinematic stories through all mediums of art. She also (slowly) writes the FanFic The Vampire Gabrielle on AO3.

In todayâs episode Joann and Kristina welcome IWTV fan and Jacob Anderson fan page curator Nado (@astronaut_Nado) who is here to help us dissect the events of season 2's penultimate episode: I Could Not Prevent It.
This is a harrowing episode, one that we've been waiting for from the beginning, and one that has left so many fans heartbroken but in awe of the performances of each of the actors in this remarkable ensemble. Nado's contributions to this conversation were absolutely wonderful and we are so grateful that he agreed to join. We promise you'll want more of his thoughts and we are definitely going to be welcoming him back for a deep dive.
Below are some ways to engage with us and a bit more about Nado.
@kristinagenx, @vampire_insider, and please email us @ [email protected]
Nado has loved vampire stories ever since he was a little kid. His introduction to the genre was the first Blade film and his interest has only grown since then. His mom was a fan of Anne Riceâs books and heâd seen bits of the 94 film as well as Queen of the Damned, which, for a long time, was his only reference point for the story.
Although heâd seen rumblings of the IWTV television adaptation prior to the season one release, it wasnât until he saw that Jacob Anderson was going to be part of the show that he became excited about it. Vampire stories told from a black or POC perspective are rare, so seeing him play the titular character piqued Nadoâs interest. After season 1 episode 3, Nado started reading the books and he has been invested ever since. He is eager to see how the show will adapt the other books into the showâs storyline.
You can find Nado @astronaut_nado on twitter and follow his Jacob Anderson fashion fan page on IG @jacobs_cl0set

In todayâs episode its just Joann and Kristina talking Episode 6: Like the Light by which God Made the World Before he Made Light. This is a critical episode, that defines the term slow burn. We get into lots of details and hash over the huge mistake Armand makes at the end of it all, but the reality of this episode is that we spend a huge amount of time talking about Roxane Duran's amazing performance as Madeline and also discuss the narrative choice to make her character's background enmeshed with a German soldier during the occupation of Paris.

We appreciate your continued patience in posting delays, we will be back on track next week. West Coast work travel meant a delay in editing.
In todayâs episode Joann and Kristina welcome content creator and vampire superfan Black Girl Talk Fangs as we recap and react to S2E5 of Interview with the Vampire: Don't be Afraid, Just Start the Tape. We discuss the relationships between the triangle of Armand, Louis and Daniel in 1973 San Francisco and how the things uncovered about the first interview inform the way the three will interact in Dubai going forward.
Our structure remains the same as last season but weâve enhanced the âstandoutâ segment and have added a new segment that tracks the progress of âDreamstatâ the Lestat projection who Louis carries with him, to Claudiaâs consternation. Below are some links to follow on Twitter (you may call it X). Thanks for coming to listen to us each week and welcome to those of you who are new to the series and new to the podcast.
About Black Girl Talk Fangs:
BGTF became an IWTV Superfan after watching the pilot episode in October 2022! She fell completely in love with Jacob and Sam's performances as Louis and Sam, New Orleans production, 1910s/1920s costumes shout out Carol Cutshall, and of course Daniel Hart's beautifully orchestrated musical scores. She was not an Anne Rice fan, and did not discover the show through reading The Vampire Chronicles growing up, but was familiar with the 1994 film with Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Kirsten Dunst.
She has always loved shows about vampires since age 11 watching "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and later "True Blood". Since finding the show, she has read IWTV book, The Vampire Lestat, Queen of the Damned, Tale of the Body Thief, and The Vampire Armand, she made a decision to get involved with AMC IWTV fandom after noticing that the show had little to no marketing behind it in 2022. So in November 2022, she created Black Girl Talk Fangs or BGTF on Instagram and other platforms to connect with fellow fans, and have been doing that ever since.
IWTV fans sometimes ask how she came up with the BGTF name and her answer is: "I am a black girl who talks about vampires". BGTF, is a space for her to fangirl over the creative talents in front of the screen and behind it without spamming friends and family in private accounts. Follow BGTF on Instagram (@blackgirltalkfangs) and Discord where she takes deep dives into IWTV Season Two episodes and occasionally host rewatch parties.

We are less than a week away from the May 12 premiere on AMC and we can't wait! In this episode we are reviewing the reviews, discussing the cast interviews that happened during the premiere festivities in NYC, and general fandom hysteria.
!!SPOILERS!! The press has been pretty open with spoilery information in their reviews, so please be aware we are pulling those threads. If you do not want to hear those, please come back next week for our first episode review.
In this episode we refer to and analyze the following things.

In this episode, the insiders are making guesses about what is going to happen in each episode, based on the newly released episode titles available on Rotten Tomatoes. We are also trying to figure out what is the deal with Louis in the gravel-filled coffin (??) and we speculate a bit on a theory: what if Paul never died?

The Vampire Insiders have finally returned, albeit with an empty host chair. On April 2, 2024 we lost Marc Snediker unexpectedly to a brief illness. We are heartbroken, and miss him very much, but know that he would want us to carry on with the podcast. So here we are.
In this episode, the remaining insiders are talking about Marc, what to expect for future episodes, and finally the thing that has Twitter on fire: The Jones Cut (also called the London Cut). If you have not seen it yet, please follow the link below and beware -- your mind will be blown.

The Vampire Insiders are speaking with IWTV fan @inkyblotposts (Twitter and Tumbler) aka Jo in the second part of our authorial intent episode. With her background in literature we thought a chat about authorial intent and how that plays out in the multiple levels of original text and adapted screenplay was in order, and we weren't disappointed. We have about 2 hours of material to share so this is the first of a two-part episode.
If you enjoy us and would like to learn more about us, please follow us on twitter @marceatspeach, @kristinagenx and @vampire_insider. We love interacting with listeners.

The Vampire Insiders are discussing an interview that Jacob Anderson gave to Entertainment Weekly (see link below). We thought it would be a good opportunity to talk a little about some of the crumbs of information that Jacob doles out in the conversation. The Vampire Insiders are discussing an interview that Kim Granito gave to a podcast called the Current (see link below). We thought it would be a good opportunity to talk a little about how AMC goes about marketing IPs with dedicated fandoms, and to dive into the subject of a new Immortal Universe property "Talamasca", how the Talamasca has already been portrayed in the witches, and where Night Island might fit into the whole picture.

The Vampire Insiders are back in the saddle and in this episode, we are discussing an interview that Rolin Jones gave in November of 2022. In that interview, he teases a bit of what we can expect in Season 2 and he shared thoughts on his experience working with cast and crew during Season 1.

Thanks for hanging in there during an extended hiatus. We meant to be back at the end of October, but due to ongoing equipment issues, real work travel, and illness we had to extend our time off through Thanksgiving. Back at it again and in this episode, we have an extended discussion about the Amuse Bouche that AMC shared with viewers at NYC Comic Con.
We are looking forward to some exciting guests coming up in the near future and we can't wait as we head into 2024 still waiting for an official release date announcement for Season 2, which just wrapped filming days before this publication.
Thank you for coming to listen to us each week. If you do like us, please share us with a friend and be sure to follow us on Twitter (x) @kristinagenx, @marceatspeach, and @vampire_insider.

During the break between seasons, the Vampire Insiders are working through Joann's tech issues and are taking a few weeks off, but will be back with all new content on October 30. We are re promoting some earlier episodes in the meantime. Here is what we said about this episode when it first aired almost a year ago.
In this episode, the Vampire Insiders discuss the differences in quality between the Vampires and the Witches, whether the uneven performance of the Witches stands to hurt the Vampires or an expanded Immortal Universe in anyway, and finally they discuss the Dark Gift asking: If you were offered the dark gift, would you take it?; which universe would you choose to inhabit; and are there any moral compunctions or issues that you find in that choice.
Thank you for coming to listen to us each week. If you do like us, please share us with a friend!

We are re promoting some earlier episodes in the meantime. Here is what we said about this episode when it first aired almost a year ago.
In this episode the Vampire Insider team hosts Stephanie Fornasier, a licensed psychologist and host of Psychocinematic Podcast (available on all the major and minor podcast directories). Steph is applying her professional opinion to a discussion of the relationship dynamics between the main characters of AMC's Interview with the Vampire, what their individual psychological profiles may be, and whether or not the toxic relationship at the heart of this show is portrayed in a realistic way. The VI team and Steph are approaching this subject with the understanding that these are fictional characters and vampires, so the discussion should be understood as a fun exercise, possibly informative, but not "real" diagnoses or an indictment of any of the characters. Trigger warning: we do get into the subjects of sexual assault and domestic violence as they were portrayed in season one of the show.
Please come follow us on social media. @vampire_insider on twitter, vampire insider on facebook and reddit, and @vampire_insider_podcast on instagram and please check out Stephanie on Psychocinematic -- a podcast that examines the portrayal of mental illness, neurodivergence, and disability in film and television.
