So how can you prevent some of this? How can you work towards better self-awareness and clearer understanding of who you are and what is actually aligned with you?

Emily dives into all of that on this short episode and shares her insights from personal experience with a previous 4-year relationship.

  • #294: One of the biggest obstacles we face as we navigate adulthood is figuring out our personal finances. From how to make more, save, invest, and of course, how to actually be conscious with the way we spend our money.

It's easy nowadays to just click the purchase button on Amazon and not think anything of it. It's easy to just swipe your credit card on everything you want, but probably shouldn't be buying. It's also easy to hoard a lot of unnecessary items in your closet.

So how can we work to be more mindful and conscious with spending money? Emily shares her personal tips on this episode and what she does exactly to be more "in control" of where her money goes, while also being savvy by investing another percentage of her disposable income into a long-term investment account.

  • #291: In April 2023, Emily sat down next to an elder couple in their 80s in Florence, Italy and ended up striking a meaningful conversation with them. To the point that they invited her and her friend for hot coca after dinner to continue the conversations.

This couple has been married for 60 years, while also building a fortune well over $500M through the sale of three companies and the husband now invests as a shareholder in other companies in UK and overseas, while leading his own philanthropy organization to give back to seriously ill children.

A little more than a year later, Emily reconnected with them in-person, this time, in England where they reside, and had the opportunity to stay with them for a few days and soak in the perspectives they had to share on life in their 84 years of living.

    Topics discussed:

Ultimate question to ask yourself to determine if that is truly your life partner (more than one couple shared this)Key ingredient to career and personal successHow true wealth is built and rarely ever that flashy externallyImportance of having your own life as a woman, outside of being a wife, mother, etc. How marriage can last after 50+ years of being together (and the foundation of it)

  • #289: If you struggle to separate your decision making from parents, family, or friends, then this episode is for you.

It's common for us to get caught up in the opinions of our loved ones and what they want or think is best for us.

But it's important to remember that at the end of the day, the decisions we make for our lives - whether it's who we marry, where we go to school, where we live, etc., that impacts YOU.

You live with those decisions, not the people that try to influence you.

  • #288: On this episode, Emily gets candid and shares one of her top secrets to her success in personal life and in her businesses. While sharing this with others, she realized that not many people actually follow up as much as they need to and are often losing out on great opportunities, whether career or personal related, due to the lack of following up.

One of the primary reasons Emily was able to scale her boutique marketing agency to 6-figures is because of the amount of following up she did with potential clients and partners.

She also applies this in personal life, when it comes to making plans and time to see friends. While maybe following up five times is not the move in personal life, it's important to put ego aside and still follow up with friends if you want to make the connection and create time to see one another.

If you're looking for a little nudge on how to follow up more and feel more confident about doing so, this episode is a must listen.

  • #285: How often do you actually feel pleased with the direction you're going in life? Or how about, the times you notice that you look at another person's life and wish that was yours? Or wish that you were living in a similar way?

Well guess what - you can. And the power is and has always been in your hands. But how and where do you start?

First, by being brutally honest and candid with yourself about what the life would look like (with no limitations). What kind of home are you living in? Who are you sharing your time with? Financially, what does it take?

This episode will help you think about these questions and whether you are aware of your personal vision, and WHY it's so important to have awareness around what you want out of your life.

  • #284: On this solo episode, Emily Elizabeth gets very personal and shares her reflection on her experiences with love, relationships, and the true meaning of "love" through her practice with mindfulness, initially learned from Thich Nhat Hanh.

From her first serious 4-year relationship, to meeting someone that deeply understood her, and to where she is now, she shares insights as if she is sharing with a fellow sister and friend, in hopes of bringing more awareness on to a few things...

If he wants to be with you, he will be with you.A man's resources does not imply "how he would treat you" - this is all intrinsic and comes from the person's personal desire, even if they are broke. There are indeed, great men out there that will treat you with love and care - prioritize looking for this. The foundation of true love is found in the art of patience, understanding, and compassion.

  • #283: Caroline and Lizzy are those sisters who finish each others sentences. The type of sisters who would rather be with each other than anyone else on the planet. Both raised in the competitive dance world, movement and physical fitness quickly became a part of their DNA.

After college, Caroline went on to pursue investment sales in New York City. A top sales performer each year at the firm, but left feeling creatively stifled. And Lizzy went on to pursue dance professionally after receiving her BFA in Commercial Dance from Pace University.

When the Pandemic hit NYC in March 2020, Caroline and Lizzy found themselves dreaming of a career where they could do what they loved while helping others in the process. And what they loved was working out in activewear that excited them.

But the activewear they purchased kept missing the mark. The clothes were either "all trend" and "no function", or "all function" and "no trend". So in stead of waiting for their dream activewear brand to appear, they created it themselves.

    Topics discussed:

  • #282: On this solo episode, Emily Elizabeth dives into the importance of "filling your own cup", especially as developing women in 20s and 30s. One of the key lessons and reminders she has heard time and time again from women with more life experience (including those who've experienced motherhood), is to always continue building yourself as a person and indulging in the things you care about - whether that be a mix of work, personal hobbies, social relationships, etc.

Emily also shares her own approach to this and what she does in her free time to "fill her own cup" as her own person. If you cannot find fulfillment in your own life and on your own, how do you expect your future children or the next generation to have examples to follow?

To be and feel your best self, requires self-care and personal pursuits. This also naturally, makes you a more insightful, developed, and interesting person along the way.
