Mark and Joy’s family recently went on a four day backpacking trip in the high elevation of Colorado. And, while this may have felt like a simple feat for some of the kids, Joy had to overcome and persevere through a lot of mental and physical challenges. This story is a great example of how beneficial it can be to push ourselves above whatever our personal comfort level is.
Only one homework assignment this week:
1)encourage someone who you think could use it! -
We had a request to recap seeing 30 states in just our first two years of marriage! We go through some of our favorite road trips (excluding the one we are on now), and even talk about a couple states we think are super underrated.
Homework:
1) Go out and identify 10 different bird species. Bonus points if you see a bird you aren’t familiar with and have to look it up.
2) share your favorite episode with a friend or on social media.
Also, please be praying for Caleb’s wife and the rest of his family. -
My parents had one of the best trips of their lives while mom was 7 months pregnant! Listen along to hear how this trip came about and what their highlights were.
Optional homework:
1) tell me who you would like to hear from on the podcast
2) watch the full moon rise -
My brother-in-law, Rylan, has an itch to travel as strong as any of us. I wanted to ask him about his 2 month trip across Europe and just how long a man can live on bread alone. Thanks Bec for helping interview!

Shovel or knife? This is what Jon was trying to decide as a defensive momma bear was charging him in the bush of America’s last frontier. Jon has been on countless adventures and quite a list of countries but I really wanted to hear about his time in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Hope you enjoy!
This weeks(optional) homework:
1) write a 5 star review
2) Take a quick mental check of any states or neighboring countries you’ve never been to and just consider if you could (and would want to) make a trip to one of those places this year. -
