This Episode on WTWC we have my good friend Katy who is an MSW candidate and intern for Reentry Services. Although Katy doesn’t have a history of incarceration, she knows all to well of what a loss feels like. A few years ago she unfortunately lost her parents and sister from a car accident and now has devoted her life to helping others! In her words, “Reentry and Incarceration are areas where people need the most help, and I want to be that person!” If you would like to be featured on a future episode on Withtimewecan please email [email protected]

This week WTWC interviewed Lance. Lance (originally from Jamaica) moved to the United States with his family and found a home in Southwest Philly. After several years, Lance’s parents moved to Upper Darby to give him a better life. But after high school, the temptations of Philly enticed Lance to move back to Philadelphia. It was in Philadelphia where Lance found himself in the middle of a gun battle which left him shot 5 times; with one shot being in his neck. Here is his story!!!!!!!!

This weeks episode WTWC wanted to focus on unity and solidarity. Today, LeBrian got an opportunity to sit with two Philadelphia protesters (Jim and Rebekah) and dove into their lives before living in Philadelphia, their opinions on white privilege, black lives mattering, why they chose to protest, how they felt watching the George Floyd video and what their plans are to further support black and Brown people across the country. This was a very humbling experience, and I'm glad to receive your side ❤.

RIP to all black people who've lost their lives due to police brutality. During the midst of a global pandemic, the nation's highest employment rate, communities outcry to end racism, peaceful protests in all 50 states and riots. WTWC found one our sisters (Uniquewa) marching downtown Philadelphia in solidarity for the justice of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and the latest police brutality case..George Floyd and decided to have her share her experience with us!!!! Please enjoy as the queen describes her experiences growing up in the inner city of Trenton NJ, then moving to a predominantly white neighborhood where she first experienced racism in school. What her motivations were to protest with people of ALL races in Philadelphia and finally she answers the question..what is her obligation to the black man ✊✊✊.

Due to the most recent inhumane killings of black men at the hands of white officers. With Time We Can decided to open up our platform to speak on a topic a little different "Being White In America." This weeks guest is our very own Dillon. Dillon is the professional engineer of the With Time We Can platform and has been with us since our humble beginnings. Listen closely as he and our host LeBrian speak about his childhood growing up in a predominantly white community, living in a KKK town, being a founding member of a school based organization named "NO PLACE FOR HATE" and ultimately, what he answers what motivated him to joining the #withtimewecan movement.
