Episodes

  • In this episode, we get very real and vulnerable about mental health and how it affects our marriage. Brittany shares about how she has recently had some setbacks with her mental health journey and what that has been like for her. We talk about how mental health has impacted our marriage and how a spouse can support their husband or wife who battles with mental health.

We have learned so much over the past 18 years of marriage about mental health and how to navigate it and see victory and how to be a supportive spouse. When you are married to someone who deals with mental health, it requires a great deal of grace and patience and it is not an easy space to be in. We want to encourage you that you can do it, and that we know that it is extremely difficult, but that you have an opportunity to advocate for your spouse and to remind them of who they are and what life can be like for them.

In this episode, we share practical and spiritual tips and encouragement that we believe will be beneficial to you whether you are the one who deals with mental health or your spouse struggles.  Mental health is not your identity and we want to join you in believing that your best days are ahead both as an individual and in your marriage.

Mental Health is hard and we want you know that you are not alone. It’s your time to let go of shame, fear and defeat and walk in freedom, levity and light!

Here are a few tips we share:

    1)Seek Outside Help

    2)Speak the Truth in Love

3)Encourage them to do things that they love, this creates safe places for them

    4) Remember who you married and that current struggles are temporary.

    5) Self-care so you can take care. Take care of you so you can take care of them.

We wanted to give you a resource with scripture to help equip you to speak truth over yourself or your spouse.

We urge you, if you are struggling with mental health, seek medical help and talk to your spouse.

    We believe in you!

  • In this episode, we talk all about boundaries in marriage and how setting up intentional guardrails can save your marriage. In a culture that undervalues marriage, it’s vital that we are adamant about coming together and protecting ourselves and our spouses. The time to set up these boundaries is not after something happens but before. We have sat across from so many couples that have told us that they wish they would have done this before because it would have saved them a world of heartache and pain.

Marriage is sacred and should be treated as such. We discuss how we remain accountable to one another, what boundaries and guardrails we have in place, and how we believe that by doing this you can protect and guard your relationship, your family, and your future. From open phones, passwords, and access to each other’s accounts we don’t hold back.

Join us in a conversation that we hope will get you thinking about what guardrails you can set in your marriage.

  • In this episode, we share honestly about what we wish we would have known
before we got married. We received A LOT of advice, some unsolicited, some
helpful but there are so many things that we wish we would have known. We
are going to share it with you and we want to hear what you wish someone
would have told you. There were times when we were newly married that we
both felt like we were looking at a stranger. Who did I marry?

Marriage is full of layers and as time goes on different things come out
into the open and are revealed that oftentimes feel very out of the blue
for one of you. The goal now is to navigate those things well; with grace
and compassion but that doesn’t mean that you are not a bit shocked when
    they come up.

Julian literally thought that being married meant he would be having sex
whenever he wanted…rude awakening. And Brittany was a bit disappointed when
she discovered Julian couldn’t fix everything like her dad could.

Make sure to listen and let us what you wish someone would have told you
    before you got married!

  • Join us as we share honestly about two summers ago when Julian came home and told me that he had lost his job, I was in shock. In that moment I knew that I was faced with a choice to react out of fear or take a breath and react from a place of love. By the grace of God, I chose the latter. We talk openly and honestly about what the past two years have been like for us and what we have learned. Julian opens up about what it was like to grieve the loss of what he thought that he would do for the rest of his life, as well as what it has been like to pivot and trust God with the details. He shares how wives can support their husbands when they are walking through a season of struggle. Let’s all be honest; we want the pretty and the perfect in marriage, and the truth is life is hard, and tough things happen. Cheers to tears.
