Divorce can leave you feeling like youâre standing in the middle of a tornado, holding pieces of your life that no longer fit together. Itâs emotional, overwhelming, and, for many, financially disorienting. Amid the heartbreak and the hard conversations, one critical area often gets pushed aside: the money.
In this episode with Catherine Calandra, a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, we unpack the financial side of divorce. Catherine shares what a CDFA does, when to consult one, and why this support can be critical BEFORE you meet with an attorney.

Life is full of unexpected turns, and sometimes those turns lead us down paths we never imagined. They may shake us, but they donât have to break us. Instead, they can refine us, reshape us, and remind us of our strength. The path forward might look different than we originally planned, but that doesnât mean itâs any less beautiful.
In this episode, Iâm celebrating an unexpected milestoneâwhat would have been my 30th wedding anniversary. While many might find it unusual to acknowledge this date after divorce, for me itâs a moment of reflection, gratitude, and growth. Letting go of a marriage that was meant to last forever is a deeply painful process. Itâs not just about losing a personâitâs about grieving the life you once imagined.
Healing doesnât happen by accident; itâs a choice. And sometimes, that choice means releasing everything you thought you needed. The real work isnât just about mending the pastâitâs about trusting that something greater is waiting on the other side.
In this episode with my friend and Soror, Latrice Rogers, we explore what it truly means to live life with joy and intention after divorce. We talk about the power of surrender, the importance of being present, and the daily habits that keep her rooted in joy. If youâre in a season of transition, this conversation will inspire you to reclaim your happiness and start living life like itâs golden.

Many of us have been taught that marriage is sacred and divorce is something to be avoided at all costs. But when the desire to honor God and follow biblical teachings clashes with the reality of unfaithfulness, it creates a painful conflict.
The truth is, choosing healing and peace over staying in a toxic marriage is not a failure; it's an act of courage. Sometimes God calls us to move forward, even when the world tells us to stay.
In this episode with Reverend James, she shares her journey through a challenging marriage and divorce. She talks about the emotional and spiritual struggles she faced, the impact of infidelity, and how her faith helped her find the strength to leave. Tune in to hear her story of overcoming betrayal, finding healing, and rediscovering her purpose through faith.

The Superwoman Complex is a popular but dangerous identity, one that many of us know too wellâwhere you take on everything. Itâs not glamorous to wear the superwoman cape, but we often believe that it makes us strong, resilient, and unstoppable. Weâre celebrated for doing it all, for being the backbone of our families and communities. But the truth? That same resilience can break you down if you donât stop and listen to what your body and mind are trying to say.
In this episode with Dr. C. Nicole Swiner, weâre breaking down the âSuperwoman Complexâ and how it affects our health and happiness. From the pressure to do it all to carrying emotional baggage, we talk about what it really takes to let go and prioritize self-care. Together, we explore the importance of setting boundaries, finding balance, and creating a healthier, more joyful way of living.

In life, it's easy to become attached to things, relationships, or outcomes that we hold dear. While desiring success, love, or stability isn't wrong, it's important to remember these are gifts from God, not sources of fulfillment. When placed above Him, they can become idols, distracting us from the peace and purpose only God provides.
In this episode of Your nEXt Chapter, I explore the concept of idolatry and how things like marriage can sometimes take priority over our relationship with God. I share how my own marriage became an idol and discuss how idols can show up in different forms, from relationships to achievements. Tune in to learn how shifting our focus back to God can restore balance and realign our priorities.

Love is often presented as the answer to all challenges, but I've come to understand that it isn't always enough to sustain a relationship when the foundations aren't built on mutual respect, understanding, and healthy boundaries. Itâs easy to give love, but true loveâhealthy, reciprocal loveârequires more than just good intentions.
In this solo episode, I share my journey from early crushes to a 28-year marriage and the lessons Iâve learned about love, commitment, and what it truly means to give and receive love. I reflect on the complexities of love and relationships, particularly those that span decades and experience both beauty and pain. Take a moment to listen, reflect, and perhaps even question what you believe about love. Letâs unpack this together.
Song of the week: What's Love Got to Do With It by Tina Turner
Key Takeaways:
"I thought I could love my ex into doing the right thing and becoming a better person but you can't love someone's brokenness away."
"You can't allow your love for the other person to overshadow your love for yourself."
"Love is one thing to write on cards, another to say, but a whole different thing to show."
