Last week we began reflecting on recent events of the substantiated allegations against Mike Pilavachi, founder and leader of Soul Survivor, a large successful Christian conference that ran for just under 30 years until recently. We focused our last episode on why we need to be putting survivors first in situations where abuse has taken place.
This week we are exploring the impact this news has had on us as youth leaders and individuals who may taken taken many young people to Soul Survivor events and possibly attended as a delegate when we were a teenager. Rachel chatted to Rev. Dr. Kate Middleton about what it means to try and process our collective grief and find constructive ways to move forward.

In today's episode, Martin and Rachel catch up on some major life updates and discuss the recent fails of youth work in their contexts. As they open the topic of how to help ourselves and the young people we serve figure out how to navigate the recent tragedies and global events, we have Dr. Krish Kandiah joining us this week on the mic.
Dr. Kandiah is an author, speaker, founder of Sanctuary Foundation, an organisation that works to support refugees and he also founded Home for Good, a charity working to make sure every child has a home through fostering and adoption. Krish is also a regular advisor to the government on some of these issues, and chats to us from an particluarly unusual location to help us think about how can we support and help the young people and communities around us.
