  • Welcome to Episode 10 of the Basha Effect Podcast, where I had the pleasure of interviewing Kate Fitzsimon. My name is Izhar Basha and I am your host.

Kate Fitzsimon is the Director of the Nicole Fitzsimon Foundation and an advocate for safety, responsibility and risk awareness in young people that travel overseas. Kate lost her sister, Nicole 6 years ago in a motorbike accident in Thailand, during which Nicole was not wearing a helmet (which is not against the law in Thailand). After suffering such devastating tragedy in her family from such a young age, Kate has been able to bounce back and spread awareness of life and responsibility. She is a role model to everyone that hears her story and her lessons.

During this episode, I explore some really deep topics with Kate about taking responsibility and holding yourself accountable to the possible consequences of your actions and how it can impact everyone around you. The key lesson that we flesh out is that we can view life as either “happening to us, or happening for us”. Resilience and perspective are extremely underrated and underappreciated characteristics of perpetual positivity.

Enjoy, and thank you for listening. I’m doing this for you.

  • Welcome to Episode 9 of the Basha Effect, where I explore the topic of learning and achieving through doing, rather than reading. My name is Izhar Basha and I am your host.

We are flooded with various various social media influencers telling us that we should read books and that all the answers are in books. This can sometimes be a little misleading, and more often than not, incessantly reading books is the precursor to procrastination. It also assumes that we learn effectively through reading, whereas this may not be the case.

I had fun challenging the concept of non-stop reading, and my focus on “doing” has been a key reason for my achievements.

Enjoy, and thank you for listening. I’m doing this for you.

  • Welcome to Episode 8 of the Basha Effect, where I talk about my key strategies and tips for what I do every morning to set myself up for success during that day. I discuss various misconceptions and other people's strategies that assist them in being successful and ensuring that their bodies and minds are primed for success during that day, but I also talk about aspects of what I choose to do which may differ from the regular expectations of society. My day starts off with me premeditating the night before and setting myself up for success by understanding what I need to be achieving the next day. This podcast shares a lot of my personal key tips and strategies about what I do, but I'm very careful to ensure that I set some guidelines and thought strategies for you to be able to decide about what you will apply to ensure that you succeed.

Enjoy guys. I do this for you.

It was extremely inspirational and motivational to be able to hear Jacy talk about his past experiences through his childhood to now where he has been able to deal with all the adversity thrown at him, and be able to rise out of the trenches to be able to achieve success in his daily life.

In this Episode 5, Jacy and I have a candid discussion behind the scenes, when both of us thought the cameras and microphones were switched off. I’m so glad that we were able to record our discussion as some amazing gems of truth were able to flow out from this.

Jacy and I discussed the truths about finding our true purpose in life. We discussed having certain strengths and skills, and how the natural gifts that we may have does not necessarily equate to what we are passion about doing. We also talk about the key inspirations and impacts in our life and how this enables us to find our true purpose to be able to find ultimate happiness in our daily activities.

  • If you want real talk about how to perform better in all facets of your life without fluffy excuses and generalisations, the Basha Effect Podcast is for you. It’s raw. It’s real. And it might hurt you a little bit. But without pain, there is no gain!

My name is Izhar Basha and I am your host. Welcome to Episode 1 of the Basha Effect. In this episode, I introduce myself with a little background story of my journey so far, and all the wealth of knowledge and experience I have amassed through my travels, interactions and business dealings.

The Basha Effect is a “pun” (play on words) relating to the Butterfly Effect. The premise and underlying message of each episode is that we need to be aware that our actions in our little world or microcosm can extend out and have an impact in places and areas that we have no idea about. We need to be mindful of all our actions and ensure that we apply excellence and continuous and never-ending improvement so that we can bring about positive outcomes and growth - a concept I call “perpetual positivity”

Enjoy, and thank you for listening. I’m doing this for you.
