John Brown's Raid on Harpers Ferry with (Kevin Pawlak)
In this episode of the American Civil War & UK History Podcast, Daz was joined by author and historian Kevin Pawlak to discuss John Brown's raid on Harpers Ferry.
John Brown's raid, which took place from October 16 to 18, 1859, was an effort by the abolitionist John Brown to initiate a slave revolt in the Southern states. The plan involved seizing the United States arsenal located at Harpers Ferry, Virginia (now part of West Virginia since 1863). This event has often been described as a "dress rehearsal" for or a "tragic prelude" to the American Civil War.

The Saratoga Campaign An Overview. ALL YE THAT PASS BY With (Avellina Balestri)
In this episode of the American Civil War & UK History podcast, Daz was joined by author Avellina Balestri to discuss her current historical fiction trilogy, "All Ye That Pass By," which is set during the Saratoga Campaign.
The Saratoga campaign took place in 1777 and was an attempt by the British high command for North America to gain military control of the strategically important Hudson River valley during the American Revolutionary War. It ended in the surrender of the British army, which historian Edmund Morgan argues "was a great turning point of the war, because it won for Americans the foreign assistance which was the last element needed for victory."

Body Snatching With (Paul Bavill)
On this episode of American Civil War & UK History, Daz is joined by the host of History Rage Podcast, Paul Bavill, to discuss body snatching.
The ‘Golden Age’ of bodysnatching was in the late 1820s in the UK. Bodies were stolen to be sold to anatomists and medical students for research and for the purpose of attracting students to medical schools. This was important for students to qualify as surgeons and anatomists. While bodies could be legally sourced from the gallows, as we started imprisoning and transporting people, we hanged fewer people, which led to the development of a massive black market.
