When Brodie and Mick from Medilinks first agreed to come onto Axons Unleashed, we were intrigued but didn’t know much about them. However as it turned out (as it often does) Luke and Mick actually had a great connection from their service days! After getting to know them over a quick bite before we entered the studio, we discovered the incredible journey they’ve both been on. From their days in the military to founding Medilinks, their story is one of resilience, innovation, and a drive to make a real difference.
Join Robbie and Luke as they dive into Brodie and Mick’s experiences in the defence force, their transition to civilian life, and how they identified a critical need within the ADF community. Their dedication to providing essential services in the mental health space is nothing short of inspiring. This episode is packed with valuable insights and motivational nuggets that will resonate with anyone looking to forge a new path after military service - all with some decent belly laughs from the boys.

Strap yourselves in ladies & gents because this episode of Axons Unleashed is one of the best so far (which is a BIG call…) Hot off the heels of an incredibly successful inaugural Veteran Games, Heston Russell joins the boys in our studio. A mini-reunion of sorts, as “Hesto” talks about his time at ADFA with Luke, running into Captain “Guns ‘n’ Buns” Turner at RMC-D, how Hesto finally entered the SOCOMD world, before hearing why he decided to discharge from the ADF.
It's a cracking chat between three mates, who love being veterans, that finds itself discussing Hesto in politics, his experiences with November Platoon in Afghanistan, his (now famous) PTI Nanna and of course how the Veteran Games came to be.
On this podcast, you will discover things about Hesto you did not know about him.

A very special guest on this episode of Axons Unleashed, Adrian Sutter, has a familiar story to any Veteran. Discharging from the military after his sister’s passing from cancer, Adrian struggled with his own mental health, which eventually led to thoughts of suicide. Soon after, one of his closest mates took his own life in the throes of his own struggles. This was Adrian’s action point. Everything about him was saying no more! This is where Swiss 8 was born. Hear the rest of this story in heart-wrenching (but incredibly important) detail as Adrian joins RT and Luke for a monumental episode of Axons Unleashed that asks us all to be better at life.

Wheels Up! Get ready for some banter and hilarity in this episode of Axons Unleashed as fellow veteran, property-based small business-owner, Phil Game, joins RT and Luke in the studio. RT’s story and evolution into the property industry is very similar to Phil's (and the similarities don’t stop there! He even has a Tammy…) Phil tells us his journey from growing up in Papua New Guinea, to a poor Uni student in Sydney, loving the cockpit of a helicopter in the Australian Army, and his success story of another Veteran living his best life.
Alongside the Axon boys, this episode touches on knowing when it's time to transition, the importance of long-term planning in business and the enduring friendships formed in the ADF.

We love mixing things up here on Axons Unleashed!
This cracking episode has not one but two enlistment stories… from the same solider! An uncommon story even amongst our guests, Sam tells his incredible journey from enlistment as a teenager, to discharge shortly after, to despair as a civvie, and back into the ADF again -proudly serving his country.
This is a journey that would not be possible without serious doses of humility and reflection of past mistakes, with the seeking of improvement.
With all the life lessons Sam explains, his story is an uplifting one that has him in a really good place - with plenty more to come. Don’t miss the episode and stick around to the end for a very unexpected, first time guest appearance… -
When Luke was first posted to East Timor as part of the DCP, he was completely unaware of the journey ahead of him. What was meant to be a 24-month posting of a lifetime with his new son and wife, soon changed to become a nightmare that would not end.
This situation eventually saw Luke medically discharge from a budding career as an Army Officer. On this episode hear an incredibly vulnerable and moving recount from Luke himself as he sits with RT to properly debrief the challenges and struggles faced by him and his family during an almost 5-year tenure abroad.
There are tears on this one - can you guess who from?

We can guarantee you that on this episode of Axons Unleashed you will hear THE most entertaining podcast on tax depreciation you’ll ever come across! Learning the basics of depreciation is a major factor in being successful in property. Now that may not seem like a huge claim, but just wait until you hear from Tyron Hyde, the owner of one of Australia’s largest Quantity Surveyors, Washington & Brown. Tyron is one of the rare characters to come through our studio who manages to match Robbie and Luke’s energy and enthusiasm!
It was like listening to an episode of The Footy Show! Hear Tyron’s unique story from labouring in London on minimum wage to partnering and eventually owning a multi-million dollar company. This is a belter of a podcast episode!

Axon’s Unleashed is back and we’re kicking off with an incredible episode that will have you wanting more.RT is joined in the studio by Tristan, a veteran who served with Robbie in Sydney, and Sean, the owner and founder of Atlantis Recovery Centre. ARC is the first of its kind in Australia, a fully- equipped, private appointment-based health centre aiming to provide a friendly and holistic experience to rehabilitation through innovative therapies, treatments and technology.
That’s a mouthful - in short, the centre has the most amazing equipment you’ll ever see in a gym. Let alone a gym for Veterans and First Responders. Only more amazing than the facility itself, is Sean’s story that led him here. From hooligan days on the streets of London, including starting and finishing a few riots to and from EPL games, to building an empire on the Gold Coast, Sean’s story is one of tragedy and over-coming seemingly impossible challenges to create his legacy. Find more from about the Atlantis Recovery Centre at: https://atlantisrc.com.au/
