  • So we are approaching that time of year when there will be a break from schools and typically work schedules. This is such a great opportunity to reset yourself, your home life, and your kids.

    If we're all being honest, when life gets really busy we tend to get ourselves into habits that we don't necessarily love. For example, if you have kids, allow your children to be on phones more than you would like, or even maybe you started the school year with a certain bedtime, but as life gets busy you have allowed this bedtime to become more of a gray area.

    This is such a great opportunity to reset some of those boundaries and some of those habits. Also maybe your children or yourself have picked up habits that you didn't have a few months ago and you want to reset those things.

  • The holidays are a time where we think we are going to have so much fun, memories to be made, trees to be decorated, carols singing all around, Christmas music aka Mariah Carey, Queen of Christmas playing in our home, the smell of yummy treats, Christmas parties to go to, gifts to buy, presents to open, traditions etc.

    But to be honest, how many times have the holidays come and you feel sad, confused, frustrated, down, alone, frustrated, uneventful, upset with family, etc.?

    We get it, that is normal for most people.

    Approximately 755 of overall respondents reported that the holidays contribute to feeling sad or dissatisfied and 68% financially strained. 66% have experienced loneliness, 63% too much pressure and 57% unrealistic expectations. 55% found themselves remembering happier times in the past contrasting with the present, while 50% were unable to be with loved ones.

    During the holidays there is an increase in demands, stress, family issues, being unable to manage expectations, increase in number of activities, lack of sleep, increase in sugar, weakened immune system, and I bet you can think of a few more reasons. I think of arguments over what house to have Christmas at or the money issues with presents, or even the fact that you are eating more sugary/fatty foods and not fixing your gut.

  • On this episode I share the tips I got from a meeting at my school with a FBI agent and local detective on Cyber security, online safety, sex trafficking, and more. The FBI agent is from Violent crimes against kids and sex trafficking department.

    If you find your child in a dangerous situation online, CALL FBI and POLICE immediately. Do not clean your phone before sharing, take videos or photos from your phone if the messages on their phone do not screen shot on their phone then the person on the other end can see the screenshots and may ghost them.

    1. Do you have the passwords for all your kids' apps and devices?

    2. Do you keep their phones/tablets/computers by you at night away from them and turned off?

    3. Do you know what apps they use?

    4. Have you discussed not to use your name on games and not to go to any other platforms with people they meet on games?

    5. Online Enticement: child meets adult online seems innocent until they develop feelings or feel groomed.

    6. Sextortion: start as posing a minor then once in relationship they reveal their older and take it sexual and try to meet up

    10. Look out for signs of anger, frustration, depression, sadness, suicidal thoughts, in your kids.

    Why did we create this journal?

    We were feeling like ships passing in the nightWe decided morning was the best time to start off together, teach our kids how to be purposeful in their day with intentions, pour into their mental health and in return ours as well.We knew our family life was not aligning with our goals. We were not teaching our kids the most important things, which is to spend quality time with the Lord, be intentional with your thoughts and actions, and have scheduled quality family time daily.

    What did we do?

    How did we rebuild our family after financial bankruptcy?

    After alcoholism and pill addiction?

    After Blair's cancer?

    We decided to start with the end in mind….

    Our goal (and we hope you feel the same) is to create a Christ centered family with WIN-WIN relationships. Focused on the Lord and kingdom work.

    So we created “See You at the Table” . Our family knows that every weekday morning at 7 a.m we meet at the table, write our 5 gratitudes, 5 prayer requests, and intentions for the day, Then we share them!
