  • We women of faith have so many strengths when it comes to building a business, but one of our weaknesses is a tendency to take the failures and success of our business very personally.

It makes sense - when we pour our hearts and souls into creating something that we know can help change people's lives, it can be hard not to take it personally when things don't go according to plan. But letting the highs and lows of our business dictate our emotions is a recipe for misery.

Let's explore how to create a healthy emotional distance between who we are personally and what we're creating in our businesses. Not only will it ensure better success in life and business, but it will also make it all a lot more FUN!

This episode will walk you through a few signs that will tell you how to know if you're cutting the right business "key" and if not, how to tweak the things that aren't working. I'll also teach you how to know when you DO have the right "key" but you just need to turn up the volume and do more of what's working.

  • Many Christian women in the entrepreneur space never set out to be a boss or a mogul initially. Most of us just saw a need and wanted to help people. But the quicker we can embrace and step into the energy that comes from being a true boss in our business, the quicker we'll create (and become) something truly amazing.

Being a boss means so much more than just hiring employees - in fact, I suggest everyone step into this boss energy WAY before ever hiring your first team member. It looks like embracing confidence, respecting your own and other people's time, it looks like trusting your intuition and building something with God by your side.

Your audience desperately needs you to take charge and help them to change their lives. And this episode will help you get started!

  • If you're a mother, then you know all about the different seasons of life and how each requires different time and energy. There are times of life when we can work full time, times when we are way busier than we'd like to be and seasons when we're barely hanging on.

It can be tempting to try to start or grow a business during a season of life that isn't particularly conducive to extra obligations. Conversely, it can be easy to dismiss a call from God asking us to do something new because we think we're "just too busy".

This episode will help us determine if and when might be the right time to scale a business, start something new or just be patient and "wait upon the Lord".

  • Are you a coach or content creator with niche drama?

Let's be honest, you probably have niche drama. We all do at some point! You're definitely not alone but this part of building your business doesn't have to be hard!

When I became a certified life coach, I went all in a niche for several months, and eventually learned through testing (that we talk about in this episode) that it wasn't going to be a good fit for the kind of business I wanted to build. So I pivoted and now make money coaching people with a real problem on a topic I LOVE.

If you're still worried, overthinking or otherwise stressed about your business niche, this episode will calm your mind. There IS a perfect money-making niche for you, one that maximizes your passion, your skill and market demand!

By the end of this show, you'll know exactly when you want to schedule regular working time on your business and how to make it happen even around family and household obligations.

  • What do you feel when you hear the word "failure?" Does it make you cringe? Worry? Stress or shiver? Most people have only negative connotations to the word "failure", but when building a small business, we have to get up close and personal to this concept and start to reexamine it.

Instead of seeing our business building adventure as a series of small failures, instead I want us to look at it as a series of experiments. This is how every business is built and getting comfortable with these experiments is critical if you're going to succeed.

But sometimes, it IS time to fail, or in other words, close our doors or do a major business pivot. What will we make THIS mean about us as entrepreneurs? Will we let it affect how we view ourselves? Does the success or failure of our business mean that we ourselves are either successes or failures?

We're going to talk all about this concept today, and teach you how to reframe failure in a way that will serve you in your business and in life, forever.

  • You're in for a treat with this latest episode of Burning Brightly. We had the amazing Denita Bremer on to discuss something so important yet often avoided: feeling our negative emotions.

As Christian moms building businesses, we can get caught in the trap of thinking we need to be positive and grateful all the time. But the truth is, avoiding the hard feelings actually holds us back from creating the impact and income we desire.

Here are a few key insights Denita shared:

    - Feeling negative emotion doesn't mean you're doing something wrong - it's just part of the creative, messy process of building something new

    - We often self-sabotage when we start feeling good because feeling bad is more comfortable and familiar

    - Trauma from our past can make it very difficult to sit with uncomfortable emotions in the present, so having support is crucial

    - The key is developing the capacity to just feel the sensations in your body without judging or attaching stories to them

Denita gave such a powerful perspective on why leaning into our uncomfortable feelings is ultimately what allows us to grow into our biggest, brightest selves. Her vulnerability and wisdom were truly inspiring.
