I'm very happy this week to have a friend of 24 years on my show. I have Dicky Barrett of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and The Defiant on my show! Jesse also played in other bands since his time in the 80’s with Operation Ivy including Classics Of Love, Big Rig , Common Rider and now has a new band with Rancid front man and Operation Ivy Guitarist Tim Armstrong called Doom Regulator. This week I have Jonny Two Bags, guitarist of the legendary punk band Social Distortion on my show. Social D is a personal favorite of mine. To me and obviously a lot of people they have never put out a bad record. Thats a fact. Sum 41 also opened for Social D in 2000 for a week when we were 19 and 20 years old and you’ll definitely get to hear a few stories from that tour as it was also one Jonny’s first tours in Social Distortion after guitarist Denis Danell passed away. The 1st real punk album I ever owned was “Smash” by the Offspring in 1994 and so when I was 19 years old and all of a sudden Sum 41 was opening for The Offspring my mind then was kinda blown. My guest this week is my old friend, old touring mate and fellow Bassist Matt Riddle from Fat Wreck Chords recording artists No Use For A Name. Sum 41 and No Use For A Name did a huge 8-9 week US tour in 2003 so you can bet we talk a lot about the fun and funny times we had on that. On the other side of course we had to talk about the tragic death of No Use For A Name singer Tony Sly as well. The emotions run deep in this one! Don’t miss it.
