This week we are joined by the in-house gang of Andrew, Ben & Webby. Topics of this episode include everyone’s favourite……the weather and how that has been affecting the market figures. Webby got bored over the weekend and listened to a competitor's podcast and shared his thoughts on this.
Oil Prices have been going up aggressively and there are talks about the dodgy penalty being given to France and Webby’s pink pants and matching socks!

In this week’s April Fool’s episode, Andrew, Ben and Webby have two very exciting announcements for us. All marketing of UK’s Co-Operative stores will be going through Dewing Grain for next year - great news for farmers!
After all the years of trading, there’s going to be a new feed barley crop – a bold, healthy and world-beating variety…The Dewing. The podcast walk location has been announced - the What Three Words are ‘Events-Diner-Rated’, date is still yet to be confirmed.
Market Report w/c 1st April, the market has perked up a bit since last week but could spiral depending on the weather as we are due some showers, meaning potatoes and sugarbeet aren’t being lifted just yet.

Oilseed rape has finally moved its way up, alongside Feed barley for June. Malting barley crop is late for planting and all we are praying for is the weather is on our side for the next upcoming months.

Farming over 7,500 hectares with 700 fields across different parts of Norfolk, crops include winter wheat, winter barley, spring barley, oilseed rape, sugar beet, spring beans, rye, maize, potatoes and a small area of vining peas, multi-species herbal leys, grass seed and spring wheat.

This week Andrew is joined by haulier, Dale Watson and Dewing Grain’s very own Logistics Manager, Andy George. Dale speaks about his journey in the grain industry, from where he started to his current role.
Dale starts his early mornings at 3.25 am, and talks to us about his day-to-day tasks. He informs us that the youngsters starting out in this type of work can find it very difficult and lonely. Andrew goes into more detail with him about the shortage of drivers and what could this mean for future market figures.
Market Report for w/c Monday 19th February, Andrew goes through the figures for this week. The market is continuing to go down and he speaks about the facts and probabilities of it increasing again. Over £3000 was raised from the raffle on the night, which will be going to local charities Heritage House, MND Association, The Trussell Trust and Norfolk MS. The Norfolk Farming Conference is coming up very soon at the Norfolk Showground and the gang are looking forward to attending this. Also, the doomsday clock is 90 seconds to midnight and Webby discusses his suspicions and what food essentials he’s bringing with him in his bunker if it hits midnight.

The market has been dull in recent weeks. With Thanksgiving in the US impacting trading activities worldwide, there is a reluctance among farmers to sell due to ongoing uncertainty and lack of clarity on RED (Renewable Energy Directive).
In the coming weeks, the Dewing Grain podcast will cover topics such as weather forecasting, the solar industry's impact on land usage, and the changing landscape of land ownership.
