HOMELANDS Project, PLACES OF BELONGING is a community co-creation initiative for and by newcomer artists, spearheaded by the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and its partners.
In this podcast episode, we are delighted to welcome Sergio Roberto Gratteri, Founder and Artistic Coordinator of Das Haus, for a second time to delve into the "Homelands" Project.

Dans ce podcast, nous accueillons Didier Schneider, Directeur du Centre CIGALE, et Franklin, jeune homme qui demande l'asile au Luxembourg et qui bénéficie du soutien du CIGALE. How can creating music help people with dementia?
This episode of 'Dive in with (e)me' features Charlotte Cunningham and Carolyn von Stumm, artistic and project directors from the Turtle Key Arts. This artistic production centre promotes "many initiatives and implement a series of measures to engage with the most vulnerable and disadvantages parts of society" (Everything Theater).
Charlotte and Carolyn explain in this episode how the project 'Turtle Song' started, and why it differs from other projects for people with dementia. Because 'Turtle Song' is not only about singing, but is also a creative process and a place for socialisation, it empowers the participants and builds up their confidence.
The Fondation EME is implementing a new 'Turtle Song' project in Luxembourg, which leads to a performance in the Philharmonie Luxembourg on 16 November 2023, as part of the Rainy Days Festival on the theme of "memory". Don't forget to book you ticket on the Philharmonie's website!

Why is listening to music so important?
Season two's third episode features Nicole Bausch, a psychologist who wrote a master thesis about "Uncovering the Benefits of Musical Activities for Psychotherapistsâ Wellbeing".
In this episode of Dive in with (e)me, Nicole dives into the benefits of music, any kind of music in your free time. What makes music so special? What are the benefits in relation to sports activities? She will get right into the subject, talking a bit about her own personal experiences. We will even get to do a short exercise at the end of the episode!
She recommends that we observe how we recover and how the different types of music we listen to affect us. It's essential to ask ourselves which music is good for us.

Find out how 5a Punkada changes the perceptions of people!
Season two's second episode features Hugo Ferreira, director of Omnichord. It is a cultural cooperative that edits, manages and represents musical artists. Hugo, who is one of the founders of Omnichord, strongly believes in the power of music and its ability to make a difference.
In this episode of Dive in with (e)me, Hugo tells us the journey of 5ÂȘ Punkada, a rock band whose members suffer from cerebral palsy or Down's Syndrome, and explains how this band overcomes the barriers it encounters. 5ÂȘ Punkada is "the most special band we've ever played with", said Chris Martin (Coldplay), as they are a real inspiration to artists with specific needs and to the music industry in general.
