For our first episode, I talked with my friend Keri about her experiences with adoption. Keri and her spouse are white, and their 7-year-old daughter is black. We talk about how Keri's journey began, how she is intentional about the spaces she creates for her child, sitting in our discomfort as white women, and protecting the stories of adopted children.

Hey hey Feminist Friend! Welcome to episode zero of the Feminist Parenting Podcast!
My name is Crystal Paschal and I am the owner of Feminist Books for Kids, an online resource designed to connect progressive parents with resources that will help them raise empathetic, inclusive kids. Our motto is READ GOOD BOOKS; RAISE GOOD HUMANS.
This podcast is an extension of what we do on the site. I’ll be having conversations about parenting, racism, adoption, politics, activism, sexual health, and so much more with an amazing group of guests who will share with us their perspectives and experiences. It’s going to be an amazing time!
Our first episode drops June 30th, but until then you can subscribe on your podcast player of choice, and be sure to follow us on social media - just search for Feminist Books for Kids. And if you have ideas for guests to interview or topics to cover, LET ME KNOW! You can email me at [email protected].
Thanks so much for checking us out, and remember - we’re all in this together!
