In todayâs episode, I caught up with a great friend of mine, Victor Wong, who is a humble running machine.
With a run streak of over 3,000 consecutive days, Victor prioritises his health and fitness and is a great example for others that we can all move more to be healthier and happier.
As a Personal Trainer, Victor has a passion for helping others be more active.
What I admire about Vic is he is an everyday person who works full-time, yet he is doing something extraordinary.
I love his humility and I love how he is driven by the growth of the people closest to him like his partner Michelle and other friends who have supported him through his run streak.
Join me as we delve into Victorâs inspiring story.
Unfortunately, Victor isn't on Strava or Instagram for you to follow his running, but just know that he is out there getting it done every single day. A huge inspiration to us all - someone clearly not in it for social validation, simply to better himself and level up in his own life!

Todayâs episode is dedicated to First42K Co-Founder Jase Cronshaw.
In early June 2021, I sat down on a podcast with my coach and business partner Jase. It was lockdown 4.0 in Melbourne and given we had launched First42K just 2 months earlier, we thought why donât we record a chat about how it came to be. I canât tell you how glad I am that we took the opportunity to have this conversation, and Iâve been waiting for a time that feels right to release this episode.
Devastatingly, Coach Jase passed away suddenly on the 15th of April, 2022. Jase left an enormous legacy on the running community, truly changing peopleâs lives.
He had a huge passion for helping people fall in love with running, he was an amazing athlete in his own right and he regularly volunteered at trail running events with his best mate DJ as a sweeper.
I hope you learn some training tips from Coach Jase to help you with your running. Jase and DJ taught me how to run smarter, not just harder, transforming me and many others they coached into incredible runners, and more importantly healthier, happier, and more confident people.
This episode was recorded over a year before we started the First42K podcast, so Iâm grateful that I had my good friend Rien MacDonald host the episode to guide our conversation.
If you enjoy this episode, please take a screenshot and share it on your on Instagram story, share it with a friend, subscribe to our podcast, and leave a review.
Thank you for listening.

In todayâs episode, I catch up with Tom Dade.
Tom is a phenomenal young Ultra Marathon runner from Mornington, Victoria in Australia, who has not only completed, but won some of the hardest ultra-marathons in Australia like Down Under 135 and the Great Southern Endurance Run 100 miler, and has also represented Australia in the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships.
Tom shares his story about how he got into ultra running, and how ultra running âmakes him feel most like [him]â.
Amazingly, Tom has completed over 50 races (50km through to 200 miles) since he started ultra-running in 2019. See Tomâs list of extraordinary achievements here https://thomasdade.com/ultrarunning/
If youâd like to connect with Tom, the best place to do so is on Instagram at @thomasthetankdade https://instagram.com/thomasthetankdade
P.S. We were pushed for time when we recorded this episode and I felt like I didnât give Tom the best chance to share his INCREDIBLE story. To be honest, I debated whether to release it. However, I decided to release it because I want to strive for consistency, not perfection, and I look forward to having Tom back on the podcast one day soon where we can chat in a lot more depth about how he has overcome adversity, and his relentless pursuit to be the best he can be!

In today's episode, I hosted HGG Performance founder, Mick Sears, who made the commitment to run his first marathon at the 2023 Gold Coast marathon, back in November 2022 live on his own podcast called Squeeze the Juice, when he had me as his guest. Mick wanted to run a marathon for several reasons - the enormous personal growth that comes with the journey, to inspire his team at HGG Performance, and to be a real-life case study of someone who doesnât like running and isnât a runner, but trains for a marathon for the first time with a coach, integrating HGG products into their training regime. It was a pleasure working with Mick to help him prepare for his first 42k and to see him realise his goal at the Gold Coast Marathon. There were many laughs throughout this podcast, and we hope you enjoy it! A quick warning: This episode contains discussions of a death that occurred during the marathon. We would like to pay our respects to this personâs family and send them our prayers. If you enjoy this podcast, please leave a review and share it with others! Thank you for listening.

In todayâs episode, I caught up with Matt Daniels, a running legend from Geelong, Victoria.Matt Daniels to many would be seen as superhuman, someone you could quickly label as âa natural runnerâ if you didnât dive deep into his journey and understand the amount of work he has put into becoming the person he is today. Matt has achieved several enormous feats like running from Adelaide to Geelong, 55 marathons in 55 days, and 535 half marathons in 535 days. He has fundraised thousands of dollars for causes close to his heart, and shown others that anything is possible with a strong enough WHY. What I find most inspiring, is he has done these things whilst working full-time, and supporting his family of 5 children. He shows others that while life is busy, we can all get outside and be more active to be healthier and happier. Matt has been a great mentor for me and many others in the running space. It was a pleasure to host Matty on the podcast and we hope you enjoy it. - Sean Bell, First42K Co-Founder, Run Coach, and Podcast Host. In today's episode, First42K Co-Founder and Run Coach @seanbellruns hosted Erchana Murray Bartlett, the current Guinness World Record Holder for the most consecutive marathons ran by a female. From August 2022 to January 2023, Erchana ran 150 marathons in 150 days, from the Tip of Australia in Cape York, to the Toe of Australia in Melbourne. Her journey inspired thousands of people from all over the world and raised over $132,000 for her charity partner, The Wilderness Society, which helps protect Australia's unique wildlife and places. This episode was recorded in early March this year, just 7 weeks post her epic challenge. Since then, she has her energy back and recently smashed out a strong half marathon and marathon in back-to-back days at the Gold Coast marathon. I canât wait to see what she does next! In todayâs episode, I reflect on my BVRT 200 Mile Ultra experience.
From 6:09pm, Thursday 15 June 2023, until 11:30pm, Saturday 17 June 2023, I was running on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail! That is a total of 53 hours, 21 minutes and 37 seconds!
The BVRT 200 miler course is an out and back run, where you start in Ipswich, run 100 miles to Yarraman, and then 100 miles back to Ipswich.
I was excited to take on this epic challenge with my great friend Jordan Chenery. Whilst I was living in Melbourne and he was living on the Gold Coast, we both trained hard for this event and supported each others training.
Through this episode, I answer your questions, speak about the ins and outs of the event, and share how I prepared for it physically and mentally.

Welcome to today's episode, where I had the pleasure of hosting Tom Hickman on the podcast.
In 2017, faced with personal challenges after a divorce, Tom made a decision that ultimately changed the trajectory of his life⌠instead of drowning his sorrows at the pub, he laced up his running shoes and embarked on a remarkable journey.
Tom set his sights on an audacious goal - to run 84 kilometres across Bali in aid of the Bali Children Foundation, a charity dedicated to educating disadvantaged Balinese children. His extraordinary effort raised an astounding $10,000 AUD!
Little did Tom know that this experience would become the spark that ignited the Bali-Hope Ultra, a life-changing week that blends the power of running with philanthropy. The Bali Hope Ultra is far more than your average ultra marathon race - it unites passionate runners from across the globe, driven by the desire to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged Balinese children.
Since the inaugural event in 2018, thanks to Bali Hope Ultra runners, donors and all other involved, just short $1 million Australian dollars has been raised for this noble cause.
And the 2023 Bali Hope Ultra just happened! I had the honour of being a support runner to assist all the runners on the course, including many first-timers, as they conquered the gruelling 84 km ultra marathon.
Get ready to be inspired as we delve into Tom's extraordinary journey and explore the life-changing experience that is The Bali Hope Ultra!

In todayâs episode I hosted Vanessa Angerer on the podcast.
Vanessa is a friend of mine from the Gold Coast of Australia. With a huge passion for running, fundraising and inspiring others, sheâs achieved several running feats that are both impressive and motivating.
Earlier this year at the time of recording this episode, V had just completed her 25 FOR 25 challenge, where she ran 25km each day, for 25 days and finished on her 25th birthday. She did this to support a mental health charity close to her heart called Livin, whose purpose is to break the stigma surrounding mental health. Livin promotes the message 'it ain't weak to speak.'
Like many people including myself who strive to achieve great things, V shares that she struggles with giving herself credit and finds it hard to reflect on her achievements. I found her vulnerability through this conversation authentic and inspiring. I know she will continue to lead, educate, help, and inspire others both in the running space and outside of the running space for many years to come.
It was a pleasure to host V on our podcast, and I hope you enjoy this inspiring conversation.

In today's episode, I hosted Brian Upton on the podcast. Brian is an INSPIRATION. As a 71-year-old cancer survivor, he is currently preparing to run 7 marathons, in 7 days, in 7 states of Australia for the Braveheartâs Foundation.
Brian loves to âhug the hard yardsâ and is the epitome of hard work and discipline. Each week he puts in anywhere from 70-100km of running, plus multiple strength, swimming, and recovery sessions.
Brian believes we should all be striving to be the best we can be and help others because we never know when will be our last day. If you think youâre too old to run or to exercise in general and youâve let your health and fitness slip, then Brian is here to fire you up and to get you back on track

In today's episode, I hosted Jord Chen on the podcast for the second time. Jord is a great friend of mine who lives on the Gold Coast. Heâs an entrepreneur and ultra-runner, who is one of the most disciplined and consistent people Iâve ever met.
This wasnât a planned podcast, but after living with Jord for a few days and seeing his habits and good practices, I thought it would be good to jump on for a quick chat about that because I believe many of us can get better at doing the basics well, like quality nutrition, daily movement, and sleep.
To learn more about Jord and his running, listen to episode 5, where we deep-dived into what he loves about running, why he does it, what running has taught him, and some of the big things heâs achieved like 33 marathons in 33 days.
One thing we forgot to mention in this conversation is there are no Ubers in Airlie! Youâll understand why I mention this because this is why we had to hitchhike with Ken to get to our Hamilton Island Half Marathon.
Itâs worth noting that as an entrepreneur Jord has a bit more flexibility with his day than perhaps what you may have if you work a 9-5. However, regardless of what you do for work, I believe can all work smarter, move more, eat better, and be healthier overall, and I saw firsthand Jordâs work ethic, he really just does the work. He takes accountability and gets shit done.
Self-improvement is an ongoing endeavor that requires consistent effort throughout our lives. By striving to become better, we fulfill a personal responsibility to ourselves and to our loved ones. The journey of self-growth never ends and requires a continual commitment to progress.

In today's episode, I caught up with Ursula Adams, an amazing ultra-runner, and my housemate on the Gold Coast of Australia. Well technically we live in Tweed Heads, but we spend the majority of our time running on the Gold Coast esplanade or on the trails!
One of the things I greatly admire about Ursh is despite deep adversity with a history of domestic violence, she always sees the best in people and treats them with kindness. Through her work as a social worker and passion for running, hosting a female run club called âFearless Femmesâ, she is driven to help others, however she can.
Her journey from not running at all just a few years ago, through to recently running her first 100-mile ultra marathon at Mt Kosioscko, is one that will you will find inspiring and encouraging. Ursh also shares some exciting news about a HUGE race that she has been accepted into later this year... listen to the episode to find out more!
I hope you enjoy our conversation and through hearing her story, you think sheâs inspired me to take on something new and to level up in my own life.If you enjoy this podcast, please leave a review and share it with others!

In today's episode, I reflected on my recent Coburg 24-hour race.
From 12pm Saturday 15th April to 12pm Sunday 16th of April 2023, I ran lap after lap around the Harold Stevens Athletic track.
This was more than just a race for me. Saturday 15/4/23 was one year to the day since we lost my running coach, and our First42K business partner Jase Cronshaw, so I was laser-focused on achieving the goal of running 200+ km over the 24 hours in his honour.Through this podcast, I share the highs, the lows, how I prepared for it both mentally and physically, and the challenges I dealt with over the 24 hours. I also answer the common questions I've received from people about the event.

In today's episode, I caught up with another remarkable human and mentor of mine, Dave Alley, who is the current record holder for the fastest cycle and run around Australia.
Daveâs accomplishments are the epitome of elite endurance and determination.
He cycled 14,251 km in just 37 days around Australia in 2011 and then backed it up with a 13,791km run in just 175 days in 2015.
We explore Daveâs highest highs and lowest lows over his respective journeys, with a particular focus on his run around Australia.
I truly felt like it was the master and the apprentice having a conversation because next year Iâm taking on the same goal, to run around Australia for charity, and attempt to break the record in the process.
I asked Dave how he prepared for it both mentally and physically, his favourite parts, and the challenges he had to overcome on his journey. We also discussed the comedown of his events and more.
But the exciting thing is, Dave is not finished yet! Later this year, he is taking on another enormous challenge, which we discuss in this episode.
Iâm not giving anything else away here, but what I can assure you is Dave will inspire you.
It doesnât matter what your goal or your pursuit is in life, it is about being prepared to leave your comfort zone. â Dave Alley
He will challenge you to get outside of your comfort zone and do hard things, whilst having fun along the way.
I hope you enjoy my conversation with a phenomenal athlete, and even better person, Dave Alley.

In this episode of the podcast, I caught up with Samantha Gash, an incredible Endurance Athlete, Global Keynote Speaker, Social Impactor, Adventurer, and Co-Founder of Her Trails (a trail running program and community for women).
Samantha was one of the pioneers of the ârunning for change movementâ, where people run to raise money for and bring awareness to causes, theyâre passionate about.
She has run across India, South Africa, and Nepal, raising millions of dollars for various charities like World Vision and Save The Children.
In 2010, she became the youngest female to complete the Four Desert Grand Slam, a series of four 250 KM ultramarathons across the world's most unforgiving terrain, and in 2012 she ran 379km non-stop across Australiaâs Simpson Desert, which took her 3 days, 14 hours and 28 minutes.
We explore the valuable lessons she's learned about perseverance, grit, and pushing beyond one's limits, and we discuss her passion for supporting other women with their running.
Samantha has been an enormous mentor of mine over the past 5 years and was the first person I reached out to when I was starting out on my own ultra-running journey.
I canât thank Sam enough for her support and I hope you enjoy my conversation with this remarkable woman.

This episode on the podcast I caught up with Benny Gorell, a legend who Iâve become friends with since moving to the Gold Coast.
Benny is a driven individual with a powerful mind that has led him to achieve incredible things in his personal life like running a marathon, and professional life like running his own business. However, his body has struggled to keep up with his ambitious spirit, leading to a chronic state of exhaustion which has been troubling him for 3 years now.
In his own words Benny says âHe has found his limit.â We explore the warning signs of central nervous system fatigue, how it can impact one's life, and the steps Benny has taken and is still taking to overcome this debilitating condition.
We also dive in to the dangers of running a marathon too quickly, and why it is vital to attack a marathon with a progressive and sustainable approach.
Bennyâs story of central nervous system and adrenal fatigue is sad, but itâs real, and therefore it needs to be shared, because it could happen to anyone.

In this episode of the podcast, I caught up with Dan Beard.
His running resume is extraordinary with over 20 x 100km races, 5 x 100-mile races, and too many 50km races and marathons to count.
Over the past few years, weâve spent plenty of time together running around Lilydale Lake, Ringwood Aths track, and in the Dandenong Ranges. We took on the Goggins 4 x 4 x 48 Challenge together and pushed each other to the limit! â¨We share a beautiful friendship and even though he doesnât like to hear it, Beardy is a huge role model to me because of how we structures his training around family commitments and full-time work. Heâs a dad and husband first but he still gets after it!
With a strong training history, years of racing, and very few injuries, I hope you learn something from Beardy. His attitude of always showing up and trying his best, and being open to giving everything a go, is something I believe takes you a long way in life.

Jye and I strongly connect over our love for running and for helping others with their running. Every Thursday morning we host the Salt Sessions together, a quality running session like hill sprints, fartlek or intervals, designed to improve our runners’ economy and efficiency.
As an exceptional runner and all around athlete from a young age, Jye shares his story of how he burnt out from running and overtraining, before finding his love for running again when COVID hit the world in 2020. Jye has some big personal goals and goals for his athletes, and it was an honour for me to host him on his very first podcast. â¨I hope you enjoy the conversation of two young and passionate running coaches. This week on the podcast I caught up with Jordan Chenery, an inspiring runner based on the Gold Coast, Australia. Jord has become a close friend of mine since I made the move to the Gold Coast in July this year. We connected over our love for running and we both followed each other’s projects this year. In June and July, Jord ran an incredible 33 marathons in 33 days, finishing his last marathon at the Gold Coast Marathon. He has been running consistently for 20 years, and encourages others to play the long game when it comes to pushing their own body and mind. He is a successful athlete and businessperson, and believes how you show up as an athlete transfers to the other areas of our lives. Jord is a great example of someone with a holistic approach to running. With the right mindset and approach to nutrition, training and recovery, Jord shows us that you can run 6,000kms in a calendar year and still function at an incredibly high level in other areas of life. Above everything, he always gives his time to others and offers help where he can, which is what I love most about him.
I hope you enjoy our conversation.
