Our guests today are two brothers, Shawn and Devin Young. They are the co-founders of Classcraft, which is an award-winning engagement management system used by five million students and educators worldwide to gamify their classroom experience.
Classcraft is a platform that empowers teachers to address social-emotional issues, and to manage, sustain, and develop engagement in school by making it feel like a game. Itâs not a game though, it's a platform where teachers can give points to students for completed work, for showing empathy, for helping each other as they go through quest lines and adventures. All of this was inspired by their experiences as students and as working adults.

Alex Assal is the CEO and Co-founder of Whoomies, a flat-sharing community in France with the goal of giving people better access to housing and creating better living situations. Alex graduated fairly recently from the IĂSEG Business School in Paris, and very soon after founded Whoomies.
Based on his experience of trying to find roommates in New York and Singapore, and the similar experiences of his co-founder, Lauren, they saw a gap in the market to streamline the experience. Instead of just offering the possibility to find apartments on a real estate platform, Whoomies offers the possibility to find people from all around the world who match your interests. You take a survey to give your interests, and the app will match you up with roommates who are the right fit for you.

Adam Smiley Poswolsky is a millennial workplace expert, an international keynote speaker, and the best selling author The Quarter Life Breakthrough and The Breakthrough Speaker. Smiley helps companies attract, retain, and empower millennial talent through speaking on the topics like employee engagement and intergenerational collaboration.
A lot of companies are now struggling with retention and keeping young people longer than six months, a year, which is incredibly costly. Millennial turnover alone costs U.S. companies $30 billion a year because it's incredibly costly to hire someone, train them, and then have them leave after a couple months.
So, Adam is trying to change workforce mindsets and cultures by helping people think about how they can make young employees feel happy, engaged, purpose-driven, and focused on growth in the workplace. âWhich I think is possible, but is definitely a little bit of a different paradigm than the traditional workforce engagement.â
