- I realized after recording that the glare on my glasses was extremely distracting. I am fixing that for next time.
- I’m distracted quite a bit during this episode because of the video and constantly checking to make sure I’m in frame/focus.

In this weeks episode of Gearing Up, we’re talking about how I record the podcast. I take you guys through all of the gear that I use and all of the things that make the show work as well as some of the work I’ve put in to streamline this process as much as possible from the recording device to the software to the microphone and I host a cover at all in this episode. It’s not really an EDC episode, but it’s still something that I use pretty regularly. I figured it would be fun to walk through the tools that I use in the process and maybe it just might inspire other folks to start a podcast if it’s something they’re interested in doing.

I sincerely hope that this episode doesn’t come off as too negative. I couldn’t shake the feeling that I needed to talk about this. At the end of the day, I think we should be spending time lifting one another up - not criticizing content creators that you don’t agree with.
I had another episode scheduled, but I decided to push it back to make room for this last-minute recording. I saw a video posted on Taylor’s (Best Damn EDC) Instagram that was about a creator calling him out for being bad for EDC.
Obvious problems with the clip/video aside, I watched the video that it came from and it left me with some thoughts. After sleeping on it, I couldn’t get it off my mind.
Instead of calling someone bad for the community - open a dialogue. Send them a message. Let’s all work together to keep the community positive and growing.

In this episode of Gearing Up, we’re talking about slimming down the carry and making conscious decisions about what goes in my EDC bag.
I wanted to find a way to purposefully carry less and use the bag space that I had more efficiently. Of course, a huge shout out to TomToc for sending over their Explorer Crossbody Sling Bag for me to check out. The bag has taken over my EDC when I need to get out of the house. I especially love the minimal design and nice little details throughout the interior pockets.
Be sure to check it out if you’re in the market for a new bag and want to take some practical steps to carrying less, but more effectively…..if that makes sense haha
