Growing up near Toronto I would often drive past Molson brewery and smell the hops being prepared for the beer and this is what I get 8 days later on the scent strip. Not what I was expecting

I was thrilled to recognize one of my beloved perfumes, Iris Cendré by Naomi Goodsir created by Julien Rasquinet then went digging online to find out that one of the key accords is Violet leaf
What were some of the things that put me off or intrigued me about this scent?
How can a floral give such an overwhelming impression of leather?!
What am I now interested in because of this note?
Of course now I want to explore how to build a leather accord using Violet leaf absolute as supporting character!

The way it would breeze in and out and play with me, I would call it playful and this kept me curious

what continues to surprise me is how I can see colours when I'm evaluating a scent

I wonder...is there a way to tie Hedione to another natural raw material to have it play hide and seek, come in and out, be here then not?

What was the most memorable thing about this scent?
I can sense and feel that hay absolute would bring a wonderful sort of groundedness to an accord. That it has within it a milky quality and that it expresses summer so beautifully. It was only when I was done recording that I remembered being in a sauna in Merano, in the Tirol region in the north of Italy and my husband had to drag me out of there because they had placed piles of hay on the heat vents and this somehow just amplified the sense of relaxation!

I was intrigued by how short-lived this scent is

I'm curious to figure out how to build an accord around this scent and what other raw materials could prolong its key characteristics.
