    At GE HealthCare, Parminder is focused on integrating AI across areas including smart devices, across the patient journey, and at the hospital operation level.

    GE HealthCare has a long track record innovating in AI, and has topped the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) list of AI-enabled medica devices for three years in a row, with 80+ AI-enabled medical device authorizations. Parminder leads a team that is helping to advance AI integration within medical devices at GE HealthCare, with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient outcomes and creating a world where healthcare has no limits. Parry is part of the company’s internal committee on responsible AI to help ensure that new AI applications are reliable, scalable, and ethically sound. He has been recognized by the AIM “AI 100” 2024 Awards and Constellation Research's Artificial Intelligence 150 “AI 150” list.

    Previously, Parminder was Head of Science for Generative AI at Amazon, where he led the development of machine learning and generative AI products including Amazon Comprehend Medical for analyzing medical record data at scale, Amazon Q for developer productivity, and Amazon Bedrock for democratizing access to Large Language Model technologies globally.

    He has held previous roles in AI and machine learning at Microsoft and Georgia Tech.

    A little about Dr. Benjamin Nguyen:

    Dr. Benjamin (Ben) Nguyen, M.D. is a healthcare and AI product leader. At Transcarent, Dr. Nguyen currently leads the Transcarent AI team which is tasked with expanding Transcarent’s suite of AI products while maintaining the highest standards for patient safety. Throughout his career, Dr. Nguyen has led multiple teams building AI products ranging from hospital AI deployment platforms, radiology AI safety applications, chatbots for patients, and AI tools for clinicians. Dr. Nguyen is known as an expert on AI in healthcare, and was recently called to testify before Congress on the subject, educating lawmakers and the public about the potential and safety risks of AI. He is also a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California, where he teaches about AI fundamentals and safety in healthcare. Dr. Nguyen received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, as well as graduate specialization certificates from the Marshall School of Business and the Viterbi School of Engineering.     Paul Markovich is the president and CEO of Blue Shield of California, a nonprofit health plan generating $24 billion in annual revenue and serving 4.8 million members across various markets in California.     Dr. Dwyer joined Certilytics in 2014, bringing over a decade of mathematical modeling and machine learning experience in both the private sector and academia, where he worked on problems ranging from the quantification of medical and financial risk to predictive genomics. He is responsible for overseeing the design and pathing of new ML/AI products. Dr. Dwyer graduated from the University of Virginia in 2009 with a B.S. in Biology. He then obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. in computational biology from Princeton University, where he developed variations of maximum entropy algorithms to predict three-dimensional protein folding patterns by mining genomic sequence data. Prior to Certilytics, he worked with a number of startups and think tanks to develop algorithms to predict student loan repayment rates and to track Defense Department allocations.
