  • Jeremy is joined by friends Phil Goodwin and Kyle to react to Fareed Zakaria's comments about the increasing secularization of culture, and the politicization of religion.

Most of the conversation is spent tackling the tension between operating as a citizen of the United States AND a citizen of heaven. Where do you draw the line? What are the risks of getting too involved? How do we ensure "Christ is Lord" remains our sole focus (rather than creating Gods out of politicians or even ourselves)?

If you have been struggling to order your thinking correctly during this political season as a believer, this episode will give you new ways to approach your thought process and move forward with confidence.

  • Jeremy Pryor sits down with his son Jackson and daughter Sydney to dissect the symbolic meaning of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Fairy tales are not just silly tales to distract and entertain kids...they are PACKED with meaning and "truer than fact" in the sense that they convey deep principles about how reality actually works. They're designed to warn children and help them make better decisions when faced with trials in their lives.

In Goldilocks, we're faced with the girl's version of Peter Pan...the youth who never wants to grow up and accept their role and responsibility. We see the destructive nature of this within family, and the impact of a culture intent on deconstructing and changing both fairy tales and the "common sense" they bring about.

On this episode, we talk about:

1:15 Introducing Goldilocks and the Three Bears (and how it relates to family and identity)

6:18 Goldilocks is about the struggle that children have to mature and fit into a family

8:29 The initial symbols to pay attention to

16:19 How a child finds her role in the family system

31:59 The collective impact of both the symbolism and the reality of this story playing out in our culture today

42:19 The risk of unintentionally inviting things into your home that are ruining your family

  • Jeremy Pryor is joined by his daughter Sydney to discuss a couple of relevant cultural topics. They react to the dystopian vision one of Obama's old campaign ads shows (which we see playing out even moreso today), then react to Louise Perry on the Triggernometry Podcast as she suggests that urban environments are killing fertility and that villages are "reproduction machines".

Learn to see what's going on around you as government and anti-family messaging seeps into more and more areas of our life, so that you can build a thriving family...even when it seems like everything is against you.

On this episode, we talk about:

0:33 Recapping July 4th in a small, cohesive town

3:07 Obama's dystopian campaign ad (and why it's actually a theological question)

13:53 The question isn't "are these things important" but "should government be doing these things?"

24:24 Louise Perry on the Triggernometry Podcast on urbanization and birth rate

  • In this episode Jeremy and his wife April discuss Vice-Presidential Nominee JD Vance's comments about the Democratic Party being run by childless "cat ladies". This is not a partisan political conversation, but one looking to find the theological principles of family and leadership as they relate to the political realm.

Jeremy and April try to answer the questions, "does leading your own family help you become increasingly qualified for leadership positions, both in the church and in government?" And "does having children give you a different kind of lens through which to see policy-level decisions that makes you more qualified?"

On this episode, we talk about:

    1:52 Disclaimer on political discussions

4:37 JD Vance says the Democratic party is run by childless people...offensive or important distinction?

9:28 Why this is a conversation that's important for us to have as Christians

  • Today's episode is a recording of a talk Jeremy gave at a church in Atlanta at a Men's Empowerment Workshop. You can find the second part of this talk (on Culture) on the 1000 Houses Podcast.

Jeremy breaks down the importance of seeing your role as a father as a coach (not a babysitter).

On this episode, we talk about:

1:14 How to build a multigenerational team on mission in a culture that prioritizes individualism

4:38 Dads should be the coach of their family team

  • A lot of people look at our family and go, OK, you guys do a lot of "weird" (i.e., counter-cultural) things...what do you do for church and worship? What does your spiritual rhythm look like?

In this podcast April and Jeremy go through 7 things they do INSTEAD of simply attending a "traditional worship service". The point of this is not to convince you of the Pryor Family ecclesiology, but to give you a few practices that you may choose to implement to serve your family and honour God.

On this episode, we talk about:

2:13 Our ecclesiology: what we think about church

13:30 Being okay with your own journey, but thinking critically about your walk and assumptions

  • Join Jeremy and his wife April as they discuss Jeremy's essay on toxic empathy, and the under-appreciated antichrist threat at the core of the social justice movement.

So much wickedness is done today under the guise of Christ-like morality devoid of Christ Himself. It's great to be gentle and just and kind, but if those things are done without Jesus as the author and finisher of our faith...if they're done in a secular sort of way...then we're in trouble. In fact, we're already seeing some of the results of this, even among our churches!

We'd love you to join us in thinking about this topic so that we can be more aware of both ditches on either side of the narrow road...the ditch of Satanic power and destruction, and the ditch of antichrist Christ-less compassion.

On this episode, we talk about:

1:10 Toxic Empathy and the Spirit of Antichrist (an essay by Jeremy Pryor)

    6:10 Jesus vs. Social Justice

  • Get a glimpse into the social contagion that's spreading rapidly in our world by hearing how it's impacting 2 young women, as Jeremy is joined by his daughters Sydney and Elisa.

First they react to an interview with Jonathan Haidt, where he discusses why and how women are impacted so deeply and negatively by social media. How do we protect the fact that women are naturally empathetic - which is a necessary and beautiful thing in the context of a family?

Then they kick off a discussion of what makes a strong female character in literature and why this is directly related to how we raise our children today, in light of the massive push by the woke media to re-write reality.

6:35 Jeremy's daughters share what it's like to grow up in this culture of social and emotional overwhelm

Join Jeremy and April as they discuss their recent shocking experience at the airport in Seattle, where they ended up helping a man traveling with a baby. It was only after the fact that they realized the depth of what they just witnessed, as they processed the information that the man was taking the 4 day old baby from his surrogate mother, and was flying to meet up with his husband.

This is an incredibly difficult issue to talk about, because the slippery slope of liberal society has led us to a place where children's needs are discarded for adult's desires.

This week they dive into how to witness to people in the LGBTQ community, family culture (via Barnes & Noble), and why Star Trek: The Next Generation is actually a great study for building a family team.

On this episode, we talk about:

1:20 The fusion of identity around sexuality and the Christian response

7:32 Is the rise of individual "sexual identity" due to the fall of family based identity?

12:05 Elisa and Sydney talk about their own experience as young women and whether there's been tension between cultural and familial ideas of identity

18:46 How do we actually witness to people in the LGBTQ community?

28:09 What's happening with Barnes and Noble? (And how it fits into Pryor family culture)

40:16 Family Media Night and why Star Trek: The Next Generation is actually a great vision of family

56:31 The devastating impact of insisting that art serve propaganda purposes

Join Jeremy, his daughters Sydney, Kelsey, Elisa, and his son Jackson as they react and give their commentary to a recent interview where Carl Benjamin breaks down the problem with liberalism.

They talk about why it relentless and inevitably becomes more and more focused on breaking down society by focusing on ever decreasing populations of marginalized groups at the expense of the majority.

We are on the cutting edge of a political theory a couple hundred years in the making, and this conversation will give you the tools needed to understand what's going on in the world today.

On this episode, we talk about:

1:59 Carl Benjamin talks about what's wrong with wealth redistribution and the left's insistence on equality

5:00 The actual role of the government, and the difference between kindness and justice

11:24 Why is the left called the left, and the right the right?

17:07 The relentless and inevitable drift left

20:26 The weird thing about liberalism that makes it sound so good, but makes it so bad
