In this episode, we talk about Learning in Relationships, and specifically the things Nat's been learning recently in her own relationship.

Whether you identify as a woman or not, there is a lot of richness & value to this conversation - as we talk about being in conscious relationship & the ways relationships create opportunities for growth.

  • In this episode, we meet another special guest -- Karla Mejia.

Karla Mejia is a multi-passionate entrepreneur helping women feel their best inside & out. Whether it's through her spa business or her coaching work, she is helping women let go of all the chaos so they can take a deep breath & ground into the present moment. As someone who has been on the journey of recovering from burnout & people pleasing, she has cultivated this practice called, The Sacred Pause.

While Karla primarily works with women, this conversation is useful for anyone who is curious about how pausing intentionally might support your life & relationships.

In this episode, we are going to discuss how we can use the Sacred Pause within our life & relationships so that we can move through the world feeling more supported, satisfied & grounded.

  • This week, we discuss all things related to what we choose to share, a central theme in Ted Lasso S.3 E.8.

We're reminded to "find out before you flip out" when it comes to things we might obsess about, that we all (should) get to choose what we share, how great it is to have good friends, and that it's fun when two people want to label a relationship -- among other things.

  • This week we discuss the emotional rollercoaster that is Ted Lasso S.3 E.7. From extremely silly to tragic, this episode covers a lot. Are we somehow rooting for Nate now? Has Jamie, the prince of all pricks, become a leader? Is Trent Crimm our lovable dork? Does there seems to be trouble brewing in Keeley's relationship? • This week we check-in about long-distance relationships. They're difficult, complicated, and delightful. Sorta. In a real turn of topics, we also discuss the recent NCAA Women's Basketball Championship (Congrats LSU!). Don't worry, true to form, we also managed to tie in identity to that discussion.

Later in the episode, we chat about Ted Lasso S2E11 - Midnight Train to Royston. This episode hinges on what it means to dream big and go for it. Also, Nate is being a real dick.

  • This episode begins with a quick chat about Love is Blind Season 4 (which recently came out on Netflix). Light spoilers. From there, we explore Ted Lasso Season 2 - Episodes 9 & 10. We chat briefly about Coach Beard's journey through Ep. 9 (it's a strange one) - and things we learned about him. From there, we're on to No Weddings & a Funeral - an episode that brings about some big & painful revelations from both Rebecca & Ted. We are reminded throughout this episode of what Dr. Sharon said in a previous episode: "The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off."

TW: There are tough topics discussed in this episode - & we will discuss infidelity & suicide - as these topics relate to the characters' experiences.

Then we dive into Ted Lasso Season 2 Ep. 8 - Man City - exploring how impactful vulnerability is toward individual and relational growth. Anyone else cry during this episode? We sure did.

  • This episode we have a good chat about the Oscars & creativity during our check in, and then, in our discussion of Ted Lasso S.2 E.7, we consider how the characters of the show wish to feel seen, see one another, and need space. We talk about how these desires are normal in our relationships, and highlight how various characters communicate about them - with a focus on Ted & Dr. Sharon, Rebecca & Sam, Roy & Keeley, and Nate.

  • In this episode, we chat about the seasons of one's life when it feels as if you are walking through the dark forest - until you find your way to the lighted path - out of the forest. We explore Ted Lasso, Season 2, Ep. 5 - through the lens of Ted's term: "Rom-Communism" in which he theorizes that we need to trust the journey, because ultimately everything will be okay. This episode might be a great one for you if you're feeling like you're in a dark forest in your life, too, and if you want to be reminded to trust the journey. Enjoy!

  • Well this episode’s check-in is bound to be one that may end up with one of us (Marsha) probably having to apologize to someone. We talk being childfree by choice and not by choice, the narratives society has around motherhood, and the weird competition around stress and exhaustion. Did we plan for the first twenty minutes to be us discussing expanding (and not expanding) families, only to then be exploring an episode dedicated to cultivating families? We did not. But hey, everything goes our way!

Later in the ep, we talk all about Ted Lasso Season 2, Ep. 4 “Carol of the Bells”. It’s Christmas in February!!

Chelsea Handler's "Childless Woman" video is available on her instagram.  Outlander, the first book in Diana Gabaldon's series is also mentioned.

  • This week, we're examining the communication & relational dynamics in Ted Lasso Season 2, Ep. 3.

In this episode, we look at a few different characters and how they're trying to find their roles - with a focus on Rebecca, Sam, Jamie, & (of course)  Ted. As we explore the story lines of these characters in this episode, we study how they're each trying to find their role.

We discuss spending time with children (when you're not used to doing so), leadership & power dynamics (power-with / power-over), nonviolent action, how it's difficult to be accepted into a team, and different styles of motivation (some better than others).

    Enjoy!
