  • Jennair and Mark Gerardot had been married for 24 years and together for 28, with a relationship marked by its share of highs and lows. Mark, often passive, contrasted sharply with Jennair, who could be more assertive, even aggressive at times. The couple, without children or much family nearby, were content to focus on their pets, which they both adored. However, when Jennair lost her job and struggled to find a new one, her self-esteem began to take a hit. The couple’s dynamic shifted as Jennair’s sense of identity eroded.

When Mark landed a new job in Delaware, Jennair stayed behind in South Carolina to pack up their life and handle the logistics of their move. This gave Mark six weeks of bachelor-like freedom. During this time, he and his 33-year-old boss, Meredith Sullivan Chapman, began developing a “work crush” on each other, igniting an affair that would change everything. As we left off, Jennair, ever perceptive, had begun to sense that something was off with her husband, though she couldn’t yet put her finger on it. What began as quiet suspicions soon spiraled into an all-consuming obsession. Jennair’s fixation on Meredith would lead to a devastating conclusion — one that no one could have predicted.

  • This is the story of a single mother, a twisted teenage romance, and a crime so brutal—and so personal—it left a community stunned and a family shattered. Susan Bailey, 43, a hardworking single mother in Roanoke, Texas, was brutally murdered in her own home on September 25, 2008. The crime was shocking not just for its brutality, but for the identity of the perpetrators—her teenage children, Jennifer and David along with Jennifer’s boyfriend, Paul Henson. The investigation uncovered a chilling level of planning, a fascination with dark and violent themes, and a trail of alarming behavior leading up to the murder.

  • The Marshall family seemed to have it all—wealth, status, and a picture-perfect life in Toms River, New Jersey. But on Thursday, September 7, 1984, tragedy struck when Maria Marshall, a beloved 42-year-old mother of three, was murdered in a parking area off the Garden State Parkway.

What first appeared to be a random robbery quickly unraveled into something far more sinister. As investigators dug deeper, they uncovered a troubled marriage, financial troubles, a torrid love affair, and a murder plot that crossed state lines. The case became one of the most notorious crimes in New Jersey, later documented in Joe McGinniss’s best-selling book and movie Blind Faith.

  • In the early hours of Thursday, June 14, 2007, just before sunrise, 32-year-old Christopher Vaughn was found limping along a rural road near Channahon, Illinois searching for help after he had sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his left thigh and left wrist. Vaughn, a devoted husband to his wife, Kimberly, 34, and a loving father to their three children—12-year-old Abigayle, 11-year-old Cassandra, and 8-year-old Blake—flagged down a passerby at 5:18 a.m. and asked him to call 911. Tragically, when the police arrived on the scene, they discovered Kim and the three children were brutally slain inside the family’s red 2004 Ford Expedition SUV, parked on a service road just off Interstate 55. The devastating tragedy raised one important question. Which parent killed their beautiful, young children? Did this loving mother kill her family and then turn the gun on herself or did Chris Vaughn attempt to cover up his own unthinkable crime?

  • Joan Robinson Hill and her husband, Dr. John Hill, were the darlings of Houston’s high society in the 1960s. Joan was a champion equestrian from one of Houston’s wealthiest families, and John was a successful plastic surgeon with a love for classical music. They were young, attractive, and seemed to have it all—a picture-perfect couple moving through a world of horse shows, charity events, and fancy parties.

But behind the scenes, things weren’t as perfect as they seemed. Joan and John were opposites in many ways, and their differences caused tension from the start. To make matters worse, Joan’s father, Ash Robinson, was a major presence in their lives. He was fiercely protective of Joan and had no problem getting involved in her marriage, which only added more strain. By 1969, the cracks in their relationship couldn’t be ignored any longer. The problems in their marriage came to a head, setting off a chain of events that would stretch over six years and leave a trail of heartbreak, betrayal, and tragedy for everyone involved.

  • Chris Benoit known as the Canadian Crippler or the Rabid Wolverine was a WWE star in the 22nd year of a storied career. He was known to be a wrestler’s wrestler- one of the most technically proficient athletes among the corps of actors and performers. Chris Jericho once said Chris Benoit was the “most intense and believable performer I’ve ever been in the ring with. He could see things that were going to happen before they happened.” Chris won many heavyweight and tag team championships, and he’d made a lot of money doing it. He was doing exactly what he’d wanted to do for his entire life- since he was 3-years-old. His friends and colleagues all knew him to be a respectful, reserved and polite family man. So, it came as quite a shock to everybody when he and his family were found dead under suspicious circumstances, in their sprawling Fayetteville, Georgia home. This is the story of a woman, her child, and to some extent, a man, who were failed by the very institution that should have protected them. The question on everyone’s mind…could the tragedy have been prevented?
