Even the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), throughout his lifetime, consistently sought forgiveness from Allah and turned to Him in repentance, despite his elevated position.

We have become accustomed to complaining about our problems and difficulties to other created beings when in reality they, themselves have problems they cannot help themselves with. Better is becoming accustomed to being patient, then complaining to Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) and trusting in His plan because He is Al-Hakim - Ar-Rahim, The Most Wise - The Most Merciful.

We have become accustomed to finding faults in others but ourselves to such an extent that we go around telling other people which in itself is a flaw. Why not becoming accustomed to digging within ourselves and understanding our own flaws, seeking Allah's forgiveness and His assistance to overpower this ego and desire. Hence the advice of Umar: 'Call yourself to account before you are called for accounting and judge yourself before your judgement comes to you.'

We have become accustomed to neglecting and overlooking the every minute Allah's blessings upon us and have attained mastery in crying over His tests upon us. Why can't we become accustomed to expressing gratitude and focusing on His blessings upon us if truly we understand His saying:
لَئِن شَكَرتُم لَأَزيدَنَّكُم وَلَئِن كَفَرتُم إِنَّ عَذابي لَشَديدٌ
If you are to show gratitude and express thankfulness, I surely will make increase for you. (Ibrahim 7) -
Many have become accustomed to spending so much money that they need not to on things that are of no importance to them with the hope of oppressing or impressing people that may not even care. Why not invest it in a trade which Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) is going to multiply it for you? "The likeness of the one who spends for the sake of Allah is like one who plants a seed that come out with seven ears, each ear having one hundred seeds, and for whosoever Allah wills, He multiplies that." (Baqara 261)

We have become accustomed to recharging our devices the moment we see the battery getting low for an hour or half. Better it would be if we become accustomed to recharging our Iman (faith) with repentance the moment we commit sins because then, the level of our Iman drops down.

Many have become accustomed to spending their presumed free time scrolling through the social media feeds. Imagine if we become accustomed to giving half that time, flipping or scrolling through the pages of beneficial books and learning new things instead?

We have become accustomed to seeking advice and professional supports from experts and specialists in various fields whenever we want to do something that relates to that field, which is really a good one, but best is first seeking Allah's guidance, then seeking supports from those experts and finally putting trust in Allah. Hence you have Istikhara as a spiritual compass.
