This week we are highlighting our July Advocate of the Month — Marinda Spencer!
We started this initiative within our coalition to give our programs the opportunity to showcase and celebrate the amazing advocates that they have on staff. Advocacy is a difficult job and they are such a fundamental part of supporting survivors, so we wanted to make sure that our advocates across New Mexico know that we see them and value their hard work and dedication to the cause.
Alexis was nominated by her peers at Battered Families Services, Inc. for her work as a legal advocate in Gallup, New Mexico. Read more about her in our NMCADV Spotlight! And if you're interested in the band Weedrat mentioned in the episode, you can find them on Facebook.
You can learn more about Battered Families Services, Inc. at batteredfamilies.com. For immediate assistance, you can reach their office at (505) 722-7483.
