Warning. You will be mad. We fiercely contest our favorite movies to the point of madness. And of course there are about two dozen other movies that are "runner up". Prepare for extremely subjective takes on some of the best takes in the world.

Devin and Luke were chatting about Doctor Who, so we decided to hit record and share this mini episode on our thoughts on what makes Doctor Who (and it's time travel theories) the best there ever was while also being a cheesy soap opera.

Devin here brings the logic and education to calmly inform us on how to properly logic. While Luke brings the heat (and possibly the lawsuits) by showcasing how some massive companies are really not all that great.

Does power corrupt, and if so, why? And does that mean that absolute power corrupts absolutely? Luke brings his fiction knowledge to the party and Devin fights back with that logical brain of his.

Devin goes all in. He does not hold back. Your favorite Marvel movie will be destroyed as Luke watches in horror. You probably aren't ready for this. You honestly shouldn't listen unless you want to be mad at Devin OR you don't care and just want to listen to 23 passionate movie reviews.

Devin and Luke are at a crossroads. Is Bohemian Rhapsody a good song or is it garbage. So we're solving this the only way we can, a formal debate. This could possibly end their friendship, so listen with care. This is not for the faint of heart.
Also, Devin asks Luke some riddles he can't answer. It's a fun time.

Devin speaks intelligently and gets political about critical theory while Luke rambles on about things that don't really matter. So business as usual in this episode of overthinking.

Luke talks about morality for maybe too long (lol, it's definitely too long), and Devin brings in some riddles to stump the all confident Luke on his deductive prowess.

These show notes are gonna be bad. Why? Cause I, Luke, am writing this. Devin is killing it with his business, so the sacred duty of these show notes rests upon my handsome shoulder (yes, I only have one, it’s a long story).
1:53 – Luke has an hilarious Arnold Palmer story
4:39 – Devin doesn’t drink water. Like a weirdo
5:00 – Luke tastes garbage wine
7:22 – Devin’s a quitter
11:46 – What’s your highest leverage move?
15:16 – Luke says the word “befundle”
15:42 – The Hill with Two Kings thought experiment
22:30 – Devin knows exactly how to make an awesome podcast, but chooses not to “yes and” Luke
29:40 – Misunderstanding is no one’s fault. Luke is befuddled
38:41 – Luke Googles in vain to answer the question he brought to this prestigious podcast
39:20 – Devin breaks the rules of this extremely well thought out thought experiment
53: 47 – Luke is vindicated in the thought that life is meaningless
1:02:00 – Devin makes a bold claim about changing your brain
1:09:05 – Devin is worried about writing the show notes about this one. Little did he or past Luke know how tables would turn
1:15:50 – The promise has been made to do a wine tasting show once the boys finally meet in person

1:04 - No “what are you drinking” today. Instead, we have a listener correction
5:30 - Guys, this was a real listener. Like, a really real listener that actually listened to our show and found an error. It’s a real person, not Luke and not Devin, but like another real person who actually listens… for real

1:00 - Please help us to welcome Dean Tracy on our show!
Being that we have a guest on this episode, these show notes are going to be a little low key… because it is really hard to do the whole, super detailed, awesome quotes, things with so many cooks in the kitchen… so deal5:03 - The Matthew principle
7:25 - Roger Banister and the 4-minute mile
13:36 - Religion, Science, and their relationship: Brought to you by Dean Tracy
34:04 - Having just talked about what science is in theory… What does science seem to be in practice?
38:49 - Dean references the Trolly experiment! We all about that one here.. It’s kinda our podcast art and all
41:10 - We come to the full realización…. This show isn’t about thought experiments, it is about failed thought experiments. **Dun dun dun**
46:10 - Does science require faith
47:00 - “You can trust something because it is trustworthy” - Dean
I low key love this quote51:30 - Does Luke think science requires faith? Hard to tell at this point….
52:40 - Correction, does the belief in science require faith?
58:00 - Dean’s thought experiment: A machine has been tested and shown to “always” accurately report if someone is in pain or not. You are experiencing pain, but when the doctor uses this machine, it says you are not in pain… who do you believe?
Devin’s answer - I stepped in the machine, I know I am in pain, so why would I believe this machine? The interesting part is that the doctor who is helping me will not believe that I am in pain Luke’s answer - I would trust the machine, why should I trust my own brain?
(Luke's point intentionally oversimplified, to make this dichotomy more epic on paper) Dean's answer - The machine will likely be trusted.. But fundamentally will never be able to accurately do its job, because the experience of pain is subjective1:09:ish - Devin gets heated against the cultural perspective of science and takes it out on Luke!
1:13:00 - What are the claims of Philosophy?
We should just name this episode “Correct me if I am wrong.”
1:17:44 - We are going to figure everything out before we let Dean go
1:28:00 - Philosophy is the love of knowledge, knowledge is dangerous, scientific advancement, human advancement, lets limit who has knowledge… is this deductive?
1:31:29 - So….. Luke left….
Think he’s going to the bathroom….. Think I can hear the water running…..1:35:00 - Dean’s secret uncovered
Going from childhood to adulthood occurs the moment you realize that nobody knows how to run your life better than you do.1:39:30 - We have agreed: Stars exist!
1:45:10 - Luke admitted he cares about you guys!! (He said he wants to make sure this is good for the people listening)
1:49:10 - When you ask a philosopher a question, if the question is good enough, you wont get an answer… you’ll get a bigger question
1:54:10 - He did it again! Luke really does care about you guys… kinda bums me out to be honest…
Thank you for joining us, Dean
1:56:33 - Luke thinks I am gonna put work into these show notes…. I told you guys from the start, I’m not gonna try to keep up on these ones...
1:57:20 - We still don’t have an outro

We are taking a break from our normal format… our 2 episode long “normal” format… I mean, if 33% of the episodes aren’t like that… I guess it’s still normal? But we're breaking down logical fallacies and discussing how to best reason.

Luke wanted to do this in the first episode but held back until the second. What an example of restraint. We're taking the trolley problem and taking it from the standard to the ridiculous. And Devin explains the Wim hof method to the incredulous Luke and shows how powerful the mind is in affecting the body.
