In this episode, we are going to be diving into evaluation for programming. One central question we will ask is, if the testing does not impact your programming decisions, why test?
We need to find out two things: what exercises can we do and how do associate variables with them? Considerations for baseline testing are group size, how long we have to train each day and over how long of a period, and pre and post-testing or integrating into training-based testing.

Motivation to be a S&C Coach In this episode, we delve into the essential topic of motivation for strength and conditioning (S&C) coaches. Motivation seems obvious at first glance, but its importance in this industry cannot be overstated. As an S&C coach, you're often tasked with getting people to do things they either can't or won't do, whether due to physical limitations or lack of discipline. Your role involves not just imparting knowledge but continually motivating clients to achieve results, carving out your unique value. The discussion shifts to the inherent challenges and rewards of the profession. As a coach, you might start with a passion for fitness and capability, but working with clients who lack motivation can be draining.
Understanding "why" you are in this profession will anchor you through tough times. Coaches often find themselves in a service industry role that requires constant human interaction and relationship management. The goal is to bridge the gap between what clients think they can achieve and what they accomplish. Tips are offered to help burgeoning coaches maintain motivation: start with low-stakes environments, such as volunteering locally, to gauge your commitment level. Over time, you’ll refine your skills, learn to motivate others effectively, and understand the industry's demands.
The value of strong internship experiences is underlined, emphasizing the need to seek programs with good job placement records and genuine educational value. Ultimately, the episode highlights the importance of commitment, preparation, and self-confidence in climbing the ladder of success in the S&C field. Building networks, demonstrating capability in basic tasks, and continually developing both technical and interpersonal skills are crucial. The message is clear: discover your "why," commit to it fully, and push through challenges with all your might.
