On the newest edition of the "daily" host T.J. Rives returns in the aftermath of dealing overnight with Hurricane Milton in his area of Florida. He recounts what went on late night Wednesday and updates the situation in Tampa Bay, etc.
He also discusses the MLB post season matchups and networks, as the Mets have eliminated the Phillies to meet either the Dodgers or Padres. They are playing a winner take all game five Friday night in L.A. Meanwhile, Thursday could see both Detroit and the New York Yankees advance in the A.L. or one or both might need a Saturday game five, also?
There's some quick mention of the NFL weekend kicking off in Seattle Thursday night for the 49ers at the Seahawks on Amazon Prime and lots of important College Football matchups with Oklahoma playing Texas in the Cotton Bowl on ABC in ther renewal of the "Red River Rivalry" and a new Big Ten showdown has Ohio State at Oregon in the NBC Sports prime time game.

Finally, there's lots of info on the ridiculous "mud-slinging" by the disgruntled WNBA players and their association at famed former Washington Post writer and now USA Today columnist and author Christine Brennan. Brennan question whether a Connecticut player purposely tried to poke Indiana's Caitlin Clark's eye in a playoff game and it set off a firestorm of reaction. TJ speficially defends Brennan against critics for obvious reasons in her background, etc.

How about Disney/ESPN deciding to start the MLB game three of NY Mets at Milwaukee Brewers at 7 p.m. Eastern to stay early and away from the NFL start time of 8:15p Eastern for Buccaneers at Falcons in Atlanta?! It seems to be on the surface a smart move. T.J. has his thoughts.
Also, the WNBA voting is in for Rookie of the Year and Caitlin Clark was almost unanimous (no surprise), meanwhile, apparently the Tuesday night cable ratings for the semi-final playoffs on ESPN2 must not have been very good, again, as there are no numbers late in the day on Thursday.

Then, a tremendous finish for Alabama and Georgia in a wild SEC game between two top teams and a game that will likely be the SEC title game and maybe even a College Football Playoff game, too. How was that coverage?
Then, there's NFL, including Tom Brady's return to Tampa Bay with the Fox Sports #1 crew to broadcast the Bucs thumping of the Eagles Sunday afternoon. And, what about Jim Nantz and Tony Romo calling the Chiefs/Chargers game nationally for CBS, as well?
T.J. has more on the WNBA and Disney/ESPN/ABC not releasing any ratings info on Monday of this week on the Las Vegas Aces/NY Liberty afternoon game that went head to head with the NFL. However, they DID release on Monday afternoo the large audience (for them) that watched Caitlin Clark's playoff debut for Indiana against Connecticut last Sunday against the NFL. It's interesting and potentially an indication that the numbers weren't nearly as good and maybe, won't be without the transcendent Clark still playing.
There's also baseball wildcard mayhem still playing out with a Mets at Braves doubleheader Monday and the Arizona Diamondbacks waiting for the loser of both games to potentially put them in the post season. And, T.J. has more on the Wildcard games coming this week on ESPN networks and ABC too.
