Relationships are inherently complicated, and it's essential to distinguish between healthy dynamics and those needing improvement. Red Flag 1: Comparison
Comparison is a significant indicator of a toxic relationship. If your partner frequently compares you to others, it's a sign of dissatisfaction. Whether it’s about physical appearance, financial status, or other attributes, comparison is harmful. For instance, if your partner says, "I wish you had a body like that celebrity" or "My friend's husband buys her expensive gifts, why don't you?" it shows they want you to change to meet their expectations. This behavior suggests a lack of appreciation for who you are, creating an imbalance in the relationship.Red Flag 2: Not Willing to Apologize
Everyone makes mistakes, but a healthy relationship requires acknowledging and apologizing for them. If your partner refuses to admit mistakes or apologize, it's a red flag. This behavior indicates a reluctance to make sacrifices or admit faults, hindering any chance of improvement. For example, if your partner checks out other people and, when confronted, dismisses your feelings instead of apologizing, it shows a lack of respect and willingness to address issues.Red Flag 3: Belittling
Belittling involves making you feel inferior or less significant. This can manifest in public or private settings.
