Why I love this movieI remember watching it on rental, not sure why I missed it in the theaters, and I watched just about every movie that came out in the 90s. And I still remember this movie even though I had only seen it once before we decided to do a pod on this movie.
I love the supporting cast - a young Joaquin Phoenix, the late and always great James Gandolfini, and probably one of the best villainous/creepy actor Peter Stormare.

Today’s film is “Bill & Ted Face the Music,” released in 2020. Starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. The movie is directed by Dean Parisot.
Keanu Reeves has had an amazing career. He is ageless. Keanu has a full head of hair, can still play the leading man, has a lean body, and has that star quality that you are just born with. You can’t take acting lessons to be a star. You can't work out with a personal trainer to be a star. Like Robert Redford, Tom Cruise, and Will Smith, you are born with it. Keanu Reeves is one of them.
This movie has a heart. And Bill and Ted are good people. Sure they are not that smart, but they are lovable. And they don’t mean any harm. Also, this movie is nostalgic. It’s a trip down memory lane. And sometimes a movie doesn’t have to be good to enjoy if it brings you back to when you were younger.

Why I love this movie
The first hour is so good. It moves fast. We don’t even know Bond’s mission until about 45 - 60 minutes into the movie. I love that.
I also like that this is similar to License to Kill, which shows Bond going rouge from central command.
It is a shame that the combination of Peter Hunt, the director, and George Lazenby, the actor that plays Bond, did not make another Bond movie. They would have gotten better if they had kept making Bond movies.
I also like the humor; the comedy is played up in the movie’s first half.
And I love how Bond works with the 2nd biggest criminal organization to go after the number 1 biggest criminal organization. Sometimes you have to work with bad guys who are competitors of other bad guys.
Then finally, and this applies to all Bond movies, is the score. The score is so good. It’s right up there with Indiana Jones and Back to the Future movies. The score really makes the movie better.

Today’s film is “Willow” released in 1988. Starring Val Kilmer and is directed by Ron Howard.
- I love the first half of this movie
- It is more comedy and getting to know the characters. It’s part hangout movie and part ragtag bunch against the all-powerful
- And Val Kilmer is the classic good-looking, very alpha, and funny hero
- I kinda wished we got to stay in the village of Nelwyn. But it is a movie in the 80s, so you got to get into the action -
Today’s film is “The Phantom of the Opera” released in 1925. Starring Lon Chaney.
- I don't love this movie (but my co-host ,Ben, loves it), but I do love a lot of the scenes in it.=
- Lon Cheney is great in this movie. He does his own makeup
- It's not a well directed movie, but the scenes with Lon Cheney are incredible. Cheney may have directed the scenes that he was in
- The unmasking scene is so good -
- I love this movie
- One of Charlie Chaplin's best
- Great action sequences that predate a lot of the action we see in movies today
- Charlie Chaplin is comparable to Steven Spielberg when it comes to set pieces
- Jackie Coogan plays the Kid who later in life plays Uncle Fester in the TV show The Addams FamilyYou can watch the movie on:
