Pole dancing is a powerful force for positive change!
Messy comedy grubs Siân Docksey and Lulu Popplewell talk to guests about the magic of hanging off a stick.
Pole dancing comedian Siân Docksey noticed how much pole dancing had improved her mental health, so she started a podcast from her parent's basement about it. This grew into interviews with pole dancers about everything from creativity, body confidence and gender identity to sex worker activism and business skills.
Co-hosted with comedian Lulu Popplewell, the podcast speaks to sexy stick enthusiasts at all levels about the art of stick-dangling: from hobbyists using pole to manage a disability to multi-competition winning professional dancers, instructors and studio owners shaking up the industry.
You can also get bonus-length episodes and help us keep making the podcast by joining Siân's Patreon . Follow the polepod on Instagram and don't forget to recommend us your friends!
Created by Siân Docksey, edited by Alice Rosenthal with original music by Amelia Bayler.

Hosts Lee Bynum, Paige Reynolds, and Rocky Jones are three Black, queer artists and pop culture aficionados, who are working every day to bring more diversity, equity, and inclusivity into the arts. Noted by The New York Times as one of the "Podcasts Opera Pros Tune To" in 2021, The Score is their provocative, thoughtful, and humorous commentary on the industry's past, present, and future, as seen through an antiracist and anti-oppressive lens. Each episode features a variety of stories from a variety of perspectives that bring People of the Global Majority, queer, trans and nonbinary folks, and everyone else into the discussion of ownership over and access to the arts. From the opera house to the statehouse to your house, each episode will amplify the voices of those in the field who are pushing the boundaries of what opera is, who it is for, and how it can transform us and our communities.

In 1997, J Spooner set up a theatre company with five friends. Since then and until 2023 Unlimited Theatre has produced and toured new work for live performance all over the world. And after 27 years of making shows and events that have delighted, confused, dismayed, exhilarated, inspired audiences across the world, the company has decided to call it a day.
This podcast is J's attempt to honour and preserve the memory of Unlimited - "an aural herstory of the company - how we formed, what we did and how we did it."
Welcome to the show. We're glad we could make it.

Life After Jazz Hands is a podcast that celebrates the many paths our lives can take, and the diverse stories and characters who are - or have been - drawn to the performing arts.
My name is Matthew Russell-Jones and 20 years ago I graduated from musical theatre college. Back then, I had ideas about how my life and career would look, what constituted success, and what I wanted from the decades ahead.
But I’ve since realised that our lives can take many unexpected twists and turns. And this got me thinking: what were my classmates' journeys? So now, I’m sitting down with them individually to hear about their stories and to understand where they are now, 20 years on.
From performers and directors to doctors and barbers, Life After Jazz Hands charts the diverse careers of a single graduating class across two decades. Along the way, it also explores the moments and experiences that shape us: loss, parenthood, relationships, ill health, and opportunities in the most surprising places. Join us as we navigate the highs, the lows, and the unexpected encores in the lives of those who once shared a stage.
