Last year we did a tribute video when San Diego's own Knightowl passed away so suddenly. In that video, Sixx mentioned an interesting fact, Owl has multiple "Best of / Greatest Hits" compilations. Well, my boy Sixx returns to join me for a 1st Anniversary tribute to the legendary Knightowl where we discuss what songs we would add if WE could make our own "Best Of" or "Greatest Hits" compilation.
Join us as we share our favorite tracks. Let us know what yours are and which you'd choose for your own compilation. -
Today I want to share some thoughts with you all. For the last few weeks there's been a little buzz and controversy floating around on social media regarding the status of Chicano rap.
Conejo (the rapper) reached out to share his video about his homie Prime's comments about the current status of Chicano Rap prompting me to make this analysis. Here I address several points made in that video, the comments Prime made, and the publicity stunt by King Lil G tying it all together plus my own social commentary about it all!!

With the stereotypes and constant oversimplification of what has been dubbed Chicano Rap, The G-Funk Junkies want to spin this notion under a different light. We put together a short playlist of some underground & mainstream West Coast Rap songs all throughout the 90's that are either from or feature members of the Long Beach group Foesum.
We start off with an original version of what eventually became a Death Row Classic and work our way down to the end of a 1990s:
Foesum - "Ain't No Fun [ft. Kid Frost]" from 1990 "Your Better Think" (3 Deep Version) / "You Better Think" (Foesum feature) (1994) Slow Pain - "Trigger Finger [ft. T-Dubb & A.L.T.]" (1995) Foesum - "Who Got Your Back [ft. A.L.T., O'Genius, Wayniac]" (1995) Deuce Mob - "Life of A Gangsta [ft. M&Msta & T-Dubb" [1996] Litefoot - "Getting My Hustle On [ft. A.L.T., T-Dubb, M&Msta, & Rich Garcia]" [1996] G-Fellas - "West Coast Rocks [ft. Frost & M&Msta]" [1999] -
West up to everybody listening. Today The Junkies are accompanied by a fellow music collector from CalifaRap.net to dissect an album from his neck of the woods. Join us as we explore a Harbor Area favorite, follow along as we drop some facts, talk some shit and dwell deep into the music!
