Today's solo episode is with yours truly, Casey Crowe Taylor and today you are on a journey to find out just how neurotic I really am when it comes to parenting. I talk about our family's core values that drive and influence every single parenting decision we make. I review our drill sergeant-like morning and evening routines we do every night. I also go over our House Rules for screens, food, and toys. And even go over some examples of how I build resiliency with my kids by consciously allowing for, and sometimes intentionally creating, age-appropriate uncomfortable and difficult scenarios for my kids to navigate.

Our first piece of advice on birthday parties? Don't have sex in March. We kid, kind of. Both of us have kid birthdays around Christmas and New Year's and we talk at length about the stress of having a birthday party to plan so close to the holidays. We both talk about our approaches to throwing kid parties with a nice side tangent on how Elsa's chokehold on toddler girls should be studied. Enjoy this one fellow moms, it was a fun one to record!

We asked and you guys answered with a resounding "please talk about snow days!!" Literally 100% of the requests we got last week for "What to whine about" were snow day or snow day related. SOLIDARITY. Elizabeth talks about how her and husband manage, divide and conquer snow and sick days. Casey talks about how last week with the snow days wasn't that much different than a normal week for her. She also goes on a random rant about what "solo parenting" means according to internet peoples.

We are back in 2024! In this episode we are reviewing our 2023 - what went great, what went not so great. We talk about we are both team #NoNewGoals this year (lol) and what our process has been looking ahead. Elizabeth updates us on her traumatic experience with her youngest this month (please send her a hug) and we talk about why the "small" things as moms are really the BIG things. Enjoy this episode as we catch up and kick off a new year on The Mom Whine.

The Moms are Back in Town!!! Casey and Elizabeth catch up after Casey's international travel and Elizabeth's busy event schedule kept them from recording fresh episodes for a month. “Clearing material space”
First-trimester smoothie
MENTAL
Mentally preparing to be okay with my two girls
Putting up mental “stop points”
Meditations to clear negative emotions
Gender disappointment
Farewell ceremony before birth

In this mini-whine we are generally talking about the fact that as parents none of us really know what we are doing or how the decisions we make will impact our kids in the long run. It's really just our best-educated guess as a shot in the dark. Casey goes on a random rant about the culture of American sports. We talk about making the agonizing decision about where to send our kids to school. It's a delightful random ride if I (Casey) do say so myself.
Hit play and listen to us whine and LOL at the shitshow.

Forgive the slow build-up on this episode we may or may not have recorded this episode at 8AM on a weekend and let's just say the exhaustion after a weekend with the kids is real lol. We have a super candid conversation about adult friendships. We talked about the shifts we felt as we had our first child and then our second. Elizabeth talks about how she and her friends showed up for the first one in the group to become a mom, and it's a shining example of how it should be done, by the way. Casey talks about breaking up with a "best friend" and how it affected her making new ones. We talk about the importance of quality over quantity when it comes to the people in our lives and the time we spend with them.
Hit play and then hit us up with your thoughts in the DM!

Welcome to another MINI WHINE episode. This time Elizabeth and Casey are candidly chatting about screen time. These two veteran moms share their experiences with having one kid, two kids and then three kids and how each "season" of mom life has needed different rules and boundaries. Casey talks about how unintentionally her kids have had zero TV time for the past three months and the pair discuss their screen time rules for travel and restaurants. Of course there is other "momsense" like registering for Taylor tickets, kids biting and other ridiculous things. Enjoy!
If you did love this episode, would you please be so loving and wonderful to write us a review? THANK YOU WE LOVE YOU.

It's "just us" today. Your trusty co-hosts Casey Crowe Taylor and Elizabeth Carberry. And today we tackle the mom version of Mt. Everest, self-care for moms. Was that dramatic? Maybe, but it's how we feel. What counts as "self-care"? What doesn't? what makes us feel guilty about "self-care"? How do we approach self-care? What different levels are there of self-care? We go deep and we go shallow (lol) in this episode as always. There are so real LOL moments and some moments that make you think.
Don't be a stranger, come talk to us about self-care on Instagram!

Join us in this candid and eye-opening podcast as we dive into the raw and unfiltered realities of motherhood in 2023. In this episode, we have a heartfelt conversation with Jenna Searby, Pediatric Nurse and Sleep Consultant, who opens up about her experience with postpartum depression for the first time, despite being a seasoned mother of five. Elizabeth shares her journey of navigating the joys and challenges of co-sleeping and emphasizes the importance of establishing a solid routine for better sleep. We also explore the age-old question of whether to bathe or not to bathe stinky kids (spoiler alert Casey is all for the stink lol) finding humor and solidarity in the messy moments. Lastly, Jenna shares her experience of how she dealt with an unexpected maternity leave and honestly shares that she's not 100% sure on the future of how she wants to run her business. If that sounds familiar, go back and listen to Episode 007 of The Mom Whine and hear about how all five of Casey and Elizabeth's combined maternity leaves also did not go as planned - so much realness in that ep!
