Today's episode is a conversation with Nick Fischer (Indigo Traveller). Nick makes travel videos in very unusual and often extreme locations such as North Korea, Afghanistan, Somalia, and more. His videos sometimes blur the line between travel videos and journalism - though Nick is quick to point out that he isn't a journalist. What he is though is one of the more unique travel channels on YouTube. His work has not only earned Indigo Traveller over 1 million subscribers, but it has also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities around the world.
We have a lot to get to, so let's get started... here is Episode 12 of The New Travel Podcast, with Indigo Traveller.

The idea of Vaccine Passports is being hotly debated in Canada at the moment, and may very well be a reality for international travel in the near future. Today I want to share my thoughts on this idea – and explore some arguments for and against it. One important idea I forgot to mention in this video however, is that many countries are vaccinating at VERY different speeds. So while some richer countries are done or almost done their vaccination campaigns, some poorer countries have hardly started. So there is something to be said that this could greatly unbalance the fairness of international travel to privilege people from certain parts of the world. Of course, it's a complicated subject and this is just meant to explore some ideas. Hope that even if some of us disagree on this we can discuss it in a respectful way. Happy to hear the thoughts of everyone else out there as well! ✌️
