The reality is, you can't have balance in an extreme sport - no matter if that is body building, CrossFit, cycling etc. As Katrin Davidsdottir famously said "Champions do not have balance".
There are however lots of things you can do to make the road back to balance post comp easier and less stressful for yourself - the women I speak about in the podcast are proof of this.

In this episode I get interviewed by Leah from Elev8 with Leah and we speak all things adhd and nervous system regulation.
Leah was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, and I am someone who thought she had ADHD for a long time, only to realise it was a trauma response.
When your nervous system is out of balance, you're more likely to experience overwhelm, anxiety, and heightened stress—similar to the symptoms of ADHD. Both conditions can leave you feeling stuck in fight, flight, or freeze mode, constantly shifting between hyperactivity and shutdown.
This creates a cycle where it feels impossible to slow down, relax, or manage emotions, which makes it harder to focus, stay organized, or make decisions—hallmarks of ADHD. Recognizing this connection can be the key to better understanding your behavior and finding strategies to regulate both your mind and body for a more balanced life.

Is binge eating an addiction?
In this episode I cover a lot - from overcoming addiction to nervous system regulation to why I deleted dating apps.The main thing this episode focuses on is understanding your nervous system and how the survival states (fight/flight/freeze/fawn) relate to the thoughts and behaviours you engage in.
I also talk about my own personal struggles with different addictions - dating apps, food, starvation, training etc and how I can now see that this was my body's way of trying to self soothe and get back into regulation.

Cassie is a lifestyle coach who started working with me 8 months after her body building comp, when she realised her addiction to food and her negative thoughts around her body just got worse and worse - she needed help.
In this episode she shares a vulnerable journey of how she dealt with imposter syndrome as a coach and working in a gym, the post-comp body dysmorphia and how she was able to go from binging every day, to (when we recorded this episode) not binging for two weeks.

Here's why the Netflix show "America's Sweethearts - Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders" is a bad example for young girls
Hint: It's not for the reason you think it is.
This episode was inspired by the Netflix Show America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.
Now don't get me wrong, I love the show, but there are many things I don't love, like how they encourage people to suppress their emotions and put on a happy front.
This is something so many women were taught in childhood - being "the good girl" aka, always happy, hard working, overachieving etc etc.
In adulthood, this looks like never feeling good enough and chronic anxiety.
