Welcome back to the kitchen table. Today Bethany welcomes listeners into a conversation that promises to resonate deeply with every parent. Bethany is thrilled to have Kristen Hallinan join her. They explore what it means to rewrite the narrative of our family legacies.
Kristen begins by sharing her personal journey through a childhood marked by chaos, dysfunction, and deep-seated trauma. It's a story many of us can relate to, either in our own experiences or those close to us. But Kristen's story isn't just about pain; it's about transformation and hope.
Kristen reflects on her own generational cycle of hurt. Her answer lies in the profound truth that God desires to use each of us, despite our wounds. He doesn't expect us to carry our burdens alone but invites us to draw closer to him as we navigate our healing journey.
Kristen's journey also highlights the vital role of prayer in parenting. She encourages us to turn to God in moments of triggering, asking for wisdom and strength to parent our children as unique individuals, exactly as they were created to be.
Kristen encourages us to become changers of our family legacies. It's a call to embrace healing, and to parent with intentionality and love. It's a reminder that through God's grace, we have the power to rewrite the stories of our past and shape a brighter future for generations to come.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. As Bethany wraps up her inspiring series, we are reminded of the profound importance of standing in God’s word. We pray that our children learn to walk closely with God, developing a love for Jesus that surpasses our own.
We want them to experience a passion for Him that fills their hearts and guides their lives. We want our children to not just know about God, but to truly love him. This love begins with a deep appreciation for the word of God. To truly stand in God’s word, we must immerse ourselves in the scriptures, seeing them for what they truly are: a reflection of who God is.
Psalm 119:97-100 reminds us that the word of God is a source of wisdom, insight, and understanding. As we pray for our children, let us pray that they too will learn to love the word of God.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Anxiety often feels overwhelming, especially for our children. We want them to experience and know God’s peace, a peace that guards their minds and hearts against the anxiety that threatens to overwhelm them.
Bethany’s prayer today is rooted in a deep concern for the well-being of our children. We recognize the pressures they face daily—from academic stress to social media, and the uncertainties of the future. These burdens can be heavy, but we believe that through prayer, we can help them find peace.
John 14:27 offers us a beautiful promise to hold onto. We pray that these scriptural truths become a source of protection for our children. We pray that in moments of fear and anxiety, they will turn to God.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. As a mother, one of my greatest desires is for my children to become prayer warriors, deeply rooted in their faith and confident in seeking God's wisdom and guidance.
Today, Bethany roots listeners in Hebrews 4:15-16, a reminder of the compassion we have from Jesus, who invites us to approach the throne of grace with confidence. We pray that our children will grow to love and depend on God, becoming strong and courageous prayer warriors.
We pray that they will not only understand but also embrace the invitation from the gospel. Together we ask for discernment for them, that they may always seek God's wisdom and guidance in every aspect of their lives.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Today Bethany is praying for a deeper and more urgent call: to pray that our children become warriors. In Ephesians 6:10-11, we’re reminded to “be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
Our children, as followers of Christ, are engaged in a spiritual battle every day. The reality of this battle is something they must understand and walk in daily. They need to be aware of their enemy. They need to know that they are not fighting alone but are equipped with the full armor of God. As parents, we stand beside them in this battle. We hope and pray that they stand firm in the Gospel, which is their foundation and stronghold.
We pray they be fully aware of their spiritual armor and confident in the victory that is already theirs through Christ. Pray for their strength, their discernment, and their faith.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Our children face constant attacks on their minds. The enemy seeks to destroy their purity of thought, steeping them in lies and deception. These lies are often difficult to discern, making it essential for us to pray for our children's mental and spiritual protection.
Our children are bombarded with negative influences such as comparison, judgment, materialism, and destructive thoughts. Impure thinking can take root and lead them away from the path of righteousness. Bethany roots listeners in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 which reminds us of the power we have through God to demolish strongholds.
We ask God to destroy these strongholds in our children's minds, helping them to recognize and overcome them with His strength and guidance.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. One of our greatest fears is that Satan will find a way to destroy our children’s faith and lead them away from God. In a world full of challenges and temptations, we must pray that God protects and guides our children.
Psalm 18:16-19 gives us a powerful reminder of God’s saving grace. Satan is relentless in his attempts to come against us and our families. But we can stand firm on the promise that God will protect us.
We ask for God’s protection over their hearts and minds, trusting that He will guide them through the challenges they face.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. One of the most powerful tools we have as parents is prayer. In today’s episode Bethany shares the incredible impact of praying not just for our children, but also for yourself.
Praying for yourself is not an act of selfishness, but rather a crucial step in becoming the parent you aspire to be—a servant of Jesus Christ, guiding my children on their faith walk.
In Colossians 4:12, we are reminded of the importance of prayer. This verse speaks to parents, highlighting the need to pray fervently and persistently for our children. It’s a reminder that we should be constantly seeking God’s guidance, not just for them, but also for ourselves
Let us continually ask God to guide us, to strengthen us, and to fill us with his love.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. One of our deepest prayers is that our children walk through life with tender hearts. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:14-15 about the importance of forgiveness.
We seek God's guidance to help our children maintain a tender heart, free from bitterness and anger. Life's challenges can often leave wounds that make it easy for their hearts to harden, not just towards others, but even towards God.
When our children experience wounds, we pray that they bring these hurts to God. We want to teach them that it's okay to feel pain and to question, but it's essential to walk through these emotions with God.
We ask God to help our children walk with tender hearts, to embrace and extend forgiveness, and to bring their wounds to him for healing.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. In today’s episode Betahny prays for God to work in our children’s hearts and minds. We ask him to shape their character, helping them to understand how their words impact those around them. As parents, we hold a deep desire for our children to grow up walking in peace.
Proverbs 15:1-2 teaches us the power of our words. We ask God to work in our children’s hearts and minds, helping them to see how their speech impacts those around them. When our children speak, we hope their words glorify God and uplift others.
Encouraging our children to run their words through a Holy Spirit filter is crucial. This means teaching them to pause and consider: Are these words kind? Are they spoken in anger? We continue to pray that they understand the power of a soft answer.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. As parents, our deepest desire is often to see our children grow into responsible, loving, and obedient individuals. We pray that God would help our children walk in his ways, calling them to obedience not out of duty, but out of a love for Jesus.
When we call our children to obedience, we are inviting them to walk in the ways of God. This isn't just about following rules, it's about nurturing a heart that loves and honors Jesus. True obedience stems from this love. As Romans 6:16-18 reminds us, our lives are transformed by our relationship with Christ.
We pray for the Holy Spirit to work within our children, to soften and transform their rebellious hearts into ones that seek obedience out of love for Jesus.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. As we walk into Day 9 of our prayer journey, our focus turns to a fundamental aspect of our children's development—their character.
Today, Bethany welcomes you to join her in prayer on seeking God's guidance and grace as we nurture virtues within our children that will shape their interactions and relationships.
In Matthew 22:37-40, Jesus teaches us that the greatest commandment is to love—love God with all our being and love our neighbor as ourselves. It's a simple yet profound truth that forms the foundation of our faith.
For us, as parents, there's no greater desire than for our children to walk in love. We long for their hearts to overflow with love for God and for others. We ask for guidance in nurturing their hearts to be free from selfishness instead, filled with compassion, kindness, and understanding.
Our hope is that these words—love for God and love for neighbor—become more than just words to our children. We pray that they permeate their hearts and minds, shaping their thoughts, words, and actions.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Bethany welcomes listeners to day 6 of our prayer journey. Today our focus turns to a topic close to every parent's heart: helping our children understand their true identity.
In Ephesians 2:10, we are reminded that we are God's workmanship, created with purpose and intention. This verse serves as a powerful affirmation of the unique gifts and talents that God has gifted upon each of our children. They are not accidents or afterthoughts but beautifully crafted individuals with skills and giftings designed by God Himself.
As parents, our prayers are focused on guiding our children to embrace this truth wholeheartedly. We pray that instead of seeking validation from the world, they find their worth and value in God's unconditional love. "You are my workmanship," God declares, and within this declaration lies a profound truth – that he has good works prepared for each of our children.

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Bethany invites you to day four of her journey through the Warrior Mama’s Prayer journal. Today Bethany invites listeners to join her in praying for our kids to really grasp what their sin means.
As mothers we yearn for our children to understand the complexities of their faith, to grasp the concept of sin, and to recognize their need for a savior.Romans 3: 23-25 reminds us that we all fall short of God's glory.
As parents, we're called to pray for our children's spiritual eyes to be opened—to see beyond the distractions and pressures of the world and recognize their need for redemption. It's a prayer we utter not just once but continually, month after month, knowing that this understanding is foundational to their faith journey.
