I am a lifelong theatre geek and proud of it. I have over 20 years of theatrical experience both on and off the stage, have sung in operas and musicals, acted in plays, conducted pit orchestras, directed choreography, hung lights from the rafters, designed and built sets when we barely had a budget for gaff tape, and micd and live mixed musicals. A lot of the knowledge I have gained over the years has been through mentorships with some of the most hard working and creative people in the business. I wanted to understand how all aspects of theater work, from costumes, to sets, to lights, to composition and performing. Iām still learning and thereās so much to learn and share. In the spirit of Stephen Sondheim I created this podcast to be a place of inspiration. His typed letters of encouragement to folks lifted so many up and brought so much joy and hope. It is my hope that this podcast, and itās attached blog, will bring you encouragement on your theatrical journey. At whatever stage you are on, be it Broadway or a cafegymatorium I want you to feel supported in your craft on stage and behind the scenes. So, welcome to Theatre Aestheticsā¢ļø! I'll share tips on the theater and the creative process, ways to organize your shows and auditions, interview artists and professionals, and present the occasional radio show. Be sure to subscribe to the podcast and I look forward to hearing from you. You can find me at [email protected], and on Instagram @theatreaestheticspodcast
