Kamini Vellodi talks to painter Alastair Gordon about his practice described in the title 'Quodlibet' for his forthcoming solo exhibition at 12 Piccadilly Arcade this September.
Kamini Vellodi is a writer and artist and Senior Lecturer in Philosophy, Theory and History of Art in Edinburgh College of Art at the University of Edinburgh. Her research intersects 20th century and contemporary continental philosophy and theory, and theories and historiographies of art history and visual culture. She is the author of 'Tintoretto's Difference. Deleuze, Diagrammatics and Art History' published by Bloomsbury in 2019, and is Series Editor of 'Refractions. At the borders of art history and philosophy' for Edinburgh University Press. She studied Painting at the Royal College of Art and Chelsea College of Art and holds a PhD in Philosophy from the Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy, Middlesex University.
Gordon serves as a course leader for Professional Practice, Leith School of Art, Edinburgh. He holds his MA Fine Art, Wimbledon School of Art and his honours BA, Painting, Glasgow School of Art and undertook the Foundation Course at the Leith School of Art.
Gordon’s work is found in numerous prominent private and public collections including Beth Rudin de Woody, New York; Simmons and Simmons, London; Ahmanson Collection, Los Angeles; Landmark PLC, London; Bow Arts Trust, London; The Royal Bank of Scotland Collection, and The Glasgow School of Art Alumni Collection. Gordon has been shortlisted for the Denton Art Prize, 2020.

Artist, teacher, writer and curator Henry Ward holds his PhD, Middlesex University, 2013, a PGCE Secondary, Art, Goldsmiths College, 1999, as well as a BA Honours, Fine Art, Winchester School of Art, 1993, and a Foundation Diploma, Central St Martin’s College of Art and Design, 1990. Since 2018, Ward has served as an advisor for the Martin Gropius Bau, Berlin, and as the Creative Director for the Freelands Foundation from 2017.

The artist has had solo shows at Kun Kelemen Fine Art, Bratislava, 2017, Flatgallery, Bratislava, 2016 and Canal, London, 2016.
Pomichal has participated in over thirty group shows including at the Saatchi Gallery, London; Slate Projects, London; The Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, Bosse & Baum Gallery, London, The Lightbox Museum and Gallery Woking, The World Museum, Liverpool, The Leopold Museum, Vienna and the Bratislava City Gallery, Pálffy Palace among many others. He is the recipient of various awards and honours such as the Mountridge Art Foundation Purchase Prize, Cello Factory, London; The Medana Residency, Vila Vipolze, Slovenia, and the Nice Gallery Residency, London.
Jo Baring is a curator, consultant, and art speaker. She is the director of the Ingram Collection of Modern British Contemporary Art. She has curated art exhibitions at museums and public galleries and is the former director of Christie's UK. Baring takes part in many art panels and delivers lectures, specialising in modern and contemporary art.
Jo Baring has launched her first podcast 'Sculpting lives' supported by the in 2020 which was chosen as the Guardian's art favorite podcast of the week. Series two will be released later this year.

Sacha Craddock is an art critic, writer, mentor and curator based in London. She is co-founder of Artschool Palestine, co-founder of the Contemporary Art Award at the British School at Rome and Abbey Council member, Trustee of the Shelagh Cluett Trust, Joint President of the International Association of Art Critics AICA UK and co-founder of the SPECTRUM Art Award. Sacha has been Chair of the Board of New Contemporaries and selection process since 1996.
Franks holds his post graduate diploma, The Royal Academy Schools, 2012, and a First-Class BA, Honours, City & Guilds London Art School, 2009. The artist is the recipient of various awards and honours including the Jerwood Painting Fellowship, 2016, the Sainsbury Scholarship in Painting, The British School at Rome 2013; Tooth Award 2012; Gordon Luton Award 2012; Richard Ford Award, 2011; and the Philip T Ribbon Award, 2011.

Laurence Noga studied at Wimbledon School of Art in 1984 and completed his post graduate studies at Byam Shaw, Central St Martins. The artist serves as a lecturer at the University of the Arts London. In addition to his art historical writing and career as a curator, Noga has exhibited widely.

Philosopher Daniel Coffeen talks to artist Phil King about his work. Coffeen wrote an essay about King's work titled 'Squiggles All The Way Down'.
Phil King holds his M.A, Fine Arts, Goldsmiths College, London and B.A., Honours, Painting, Fine Art, Painting, The Bath Academy of Art. King serves as the co-editor of Turps magazine and has contributed critical essays to various art exhibition catalogues. In 2014, King translated Jean Genet’s The Studio of Giacometti, Grey Tiger Books.
Daniel Coffeen has a PhD in Rhetoric from UC Berkeley where he was a lecturer for many years, in addition to teaching graduate seminars in critical theory at the San Francisco Art Institute. He's a frequent contributor to philosophy podcasts and a prolific blogger.
