  • In a special episode of the podcast, Mr P has a chat with the shadow education secretary Bridget Phillipson. Unfortunately, The Other Mr P is away on a residential and therefore couldn't join, so Mr P is having a more serious chat with the potential new education secretary. With the general election less than a month away, he was keen to chat to Bridget about some of the policies announced and hopefully provide teachers and schools staff an opportunity to hear about what changes would be made if Bridget was to become the next education secretary. They were able to cover a range of topics from the levels of child poverty, school funding, the SEND crisis, recruitment and retention, Ofsted, workload, support staff and curriculum reforms. We hope you find it useful and we would love to hear your feedback. Mr P came away from the chat hopeful, with the feeling that Bridget would do what we don't think any Education Secretary has done in the past decade which is engage, value and listen to the profession.

In this episode, Mr P's brother recounts his recent camping residential and Mr P talks about his weekend at Center Parcs. Mr P shares examples of myths that people still believe. There is a dilemma of what to do when you have a gut feeling about something going on in school. Then more of your crazy stories are shared including more scandal, a teacher tired that'll leave you cringing, mistakenly overhearing a conversation from your pupils about lubricants and a teacher with a bird phobia who quite frankly puts themselves into too many situations involving birds.

We are back with a bumper episode! Firstly, we'd like to thank everyone for their lovely messages after last week's episode. The conversation starts with Mr. P discussing the new book he is reading that warns about exposing children to smartphones. This leads into a dilemma, highlighting just one of the many issues with children and technology. As everyone is in the midst of exam season—SATs, GCSEs, and A-Levels—Mr. P shares some of the funniest answers seen in tests and exams. The Other Mr. P shares some shocking comments made by old school teachers in the past, which makes you realise just how lovely teachers are now.

  • TW: Loss and grief

This week's episode is a little different, last week we lost Nana Maureen who was such a big influence on our lives and a huge part of the podcast. We felt it was only right to do a tribute episode and talk about our feelings and the impact Nana had on us. We were so incredibly proud of having such a special person as our Nana and wanted to share her with the world. We are so grateful for all the lovely messages we've received, it has really helped.

It is the day after Mr P's birthday so he recounts his birthday weekend on this son's rugby tour. The Other Mr P talks through seeing Boyz 2 Men for the third time. The episode focuses on school trips, with Mr P getting very triggered after seeing a TikTok where the comments were blaming the price of school trips on the fact it needs to cover the cost of teachers going. After a rant about the time and effort that goes into organising a trip and the stress and effort of having to look after children on a trip, the boys share some funny school trip stories which prove that school trips are anything other than a relaxing holiday. Mr P also shares what he thinks is the biggest urban legend of a school trip story before the episode finishes with another shocking parent interaction which will leave you as gobsmacked as the boys were.

The boys then share some of the most successful lies both in and out of the classroom before sharing a dilemma, some of the stories submitted for the Liverpool show that didn't end up getting shared in the show and the Other Mr P asks whether many teachers can play a musical instrument like the plethora of teachers they had when they were younger before Mr P uses AI to make a pop punk song about the Podcast.
